"I was a bit apprehensive booking due to the mixed reviews. I initially booked a standard room in the aspire wing but due to a strange noise I was upgraded without any stress (quick resolution and great service!) to a balcony room still in the aspire wing. It was a small balcony just enough for a chair but it was nice to have the door open for the fresh air on a sunny day. I was pleasantly surprised and would stay again."

"Location: Perth city, There is a 24-hour convenience store next door, walking distance to Elizabeth Harbour (didn't go). Employee: Philip (I only knew his name after asking the supervisor in the morning). He was very friendly, asked detailed questions about the customer's needs, and introduced the hotel's facilities and location. Feeling cared for, compared to the mechanical check-in at other hotels, this is more human-like, and I give a thumbs up to Philip. Room: The sheets are clean, the pillows have no odor, the towels are clean and dry. If you often travel, you should know how important these three points are. I didn’t experience breakfast and the bar because I didn’t have time, so I don’t dare to make a random evaluation. This is also the hotel where the cabin crew of Cathay Pacific and Malaysia Airlines stay, and the environment is very good."

"Great hotel to stay nearby to the elizabeth quay bus station by walking distance. Can ride free BLUE, GREEN and PURPLE CAT bus from this station. Walking to the shopping street Murray street was about 15-20mins. Hotel just right beside the exhibition centre. The facility still acceptable but furnitures and TV kind of old. Need replacement. The elevator was old fashioned and there was huge problem on inserting and releasing the room card in the elevator to select the correct floor. Advise to renovate and replace with touch pad system."

"Location of the hotel is excellent. It’s right in the heart of CBD, close to shopping, dining, attractions and public transports. A heritage building with a pub/ cafe downstairs and accommodation upstairs. I enjoy the old fashions of the decor, wooden staircases and small rooftop garden. Thanks for upgrading my room to a Queen size bed room with a window facing the street. Generally is clean and tidy. Service is good. Thanks to Mark and all other Receptionists, they were friendly and helpful."

"Terrible sleep, large party of girls above our room slamming doors and being excessively loud which kept us awake, then a brawl broke out early AM which woke us up. Also the room we were in overlooked the car park and was extremely bright to the point I had to cover my eyes with a shirt No internet Don’t recommend if you actually want to sleep !"

"Great location – less than 10 minutes’ walk to Perth Train Station, Woolworths, and Murray Street. Very convenient with plenty of restaurants nearby. However, the housekeeping service could be improved as the room was not cleaned daily. I had to remind them to clear the rubbish and replace towels. I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment equipped with a full kitchen, laundry facilities, and a dryer. The bed was too soft, and I would recommend upgrading the mattress for better comfort. The apartment provides a good selection of teas and coffees, but basic amenities such as toothbrush and toothpaste are not included. Overall, the front desk staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place for anyone visiting Perth, especially due to its close proximity to Perth Train Station."

Ppetrina yeoWe stayed as a family with a 2year old. I wouldn't consider this a 5 star, perhaps more of a 4 star. When we arrived late at night, tired from a long drive, there was no bell boy to assist us with luggage direct to room, and esp with a kid in tow it was difficult. However one of our bags broke and the staff did help us get a bag from their store. Also no toothbrush was provided upon check in day and we found out next day only that it has to be requested, seriously, this is a very basic necessity to have at least for 1st day. The decor was intended to be classy but we found it a tad bit dark. The worst part was the bed was way too soft and sunk in, I had a backache the next days. :( On a positive note the bath tub was huge, toilet was spacious with 2 sinks! My kid enjoyed the bath tub. Also they did prepare the cot in the room when we arrived and I was very pleased. The next day I asked for high chair and it was timely placed at our room when we got back. Overall the staff were responsive. Also the breakfast was Ala carte, not buffet, but it was nicely cooked - however they did not offer a kids menu. The location is close to cbd shopping but do take note parking at hay street has day charges/hourly charges which you should factor to the value of your stay. Most shops closes early around 5pm by the time we got back from our day trips. Overall this hotel was more for couples or business stay and not so kid/family friendl, but that's just my opinion!

BBaixianshengbaixiaoshengWhile the room wasn't overly spacious, the twin room was perfectly adequate for our needs. We had enough space to open two suitcases, and the beds were a good size. The service was truly excellent; they offered complimentary ice cream for the kids (available daily with a small card), along with donuts and small toys – a really thoughtful touch. Breakfast was good, offering a pretty extensive selection. The location is incredibly convenient, right in the city center, with a 'Red Cat' (a local landmark/service) right outside the door. Booking early with breakfast offered decent value for money, though the price did increase significantly later on.

AAnonymous UserLocation: what's hot- centrally located near the CBD & ”heart of town”. What's not- one of the furthest in terms of walking from Perth station. There are nearer hotels if you are coming from the Perth train station. General facilities: What's hot- contemporary Aussie art works line the walls of this building, inside & out, making it eclectic. What's not- unremarkable really. Standard features. Although reasonably new, if you look closer, much of the linen covered furniture (viz chairs) are stained and grubby close up. Swimming pool is small. Dining area is smallish. Rooms: What's hot- beds & pillows are very comfortable! Probably the best feature of the room. Shower head is a rain shower! Always a mark of a great bathroom. The TV screen is large. They provide an ironing board and an iron, which is nice. There's also a basic Expresso machine, which is appreciated. The room windows are floor to ceiling-great views and light! What's not- no toiletries unless requested (eco drive). No tissue paper unless requested. No room slippers provided. No water- so you either have to boil it in-room, or walk to the 1st floor to get it from the dining room, which sucks. Carpets are designed to hide the grime, but on closer inspection, the stains are there, giving you an icky feel. The wardrobe area is severely limited, so it feels cramped when you have 2 people trying to share the same area. Could be better. There is no dedicated luggage stand, so you'll have to do with laying it on the floor. Pity your back & knees. Service: What's hot- nothing really. All the politeness your expect from any hotel. Nothing remarkable. What's not- housekeeping service is inconsistent & poor. By any standards of a good hotel this is one big area that they need to improve upon. We stayed 7 nights & for the first half of our stay, we had to request for our rooms to be made up and on at least 2 days, there was no housekeeping at all. It almost felt like a third party service had been employed to take care of the rooms which was disconnected from the hotel's standards. An annoyance we could do without & a huge fail in my books. Breakfast: What's hot- sadly, nothing great. It was ok, again, unremarkable in its variety, quality & presentation. What's not: if I had to do it again, I'd find breakfast elsewhere & save the money. Conclusion: it was ok. Nothing to draw me back again unless I had no other choice. The fact that it's an Accor accredited hotel makes it even more disappointing. Between the poor housekeeping & the unremarkable breakfast, it's a pretty average hotel with limited repeatability if you had a choice.

QQxzXoxoRooms were recently renovated and is superrrr clean!! Carpets floorings were vacuumed and I can see no dust. Stayed for three nights. Hope it will stay like this in the future! However toilets need some improvements especially the Shower area. No space to put our toiletries while bathing. The glass panels have spaces inbetween so the water will flow out and will make the floor all wet. Lobby area is cozy. We left our luggages at the counter after checking out since our flight is only later that day. Thanks!

DDoan TranMountway Hotel Apartment: A Budget Gem for Asian Travelers in Perth I recently stayed at Mountway Hotel Apartment in Perth, and I must say it’s one of the best options in its price range, especially for Asian travelers looking for a long-term stay with self-catering facilities. Location: The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient for getting around. It’s just 1.1 km from the central train station, and you can hop on free bus services like the Red CAT, Blue CAT, or Green CAT, with stops only 100m to 250m away—perfect for easy commuting. Behind the hotel lies the stunning Kings Park and Botanic Garden. If you don’t feel like walking the 300m to get there, the Blue CAT will drop you off effortlessly. The accessibility to public transport and nearby attractions is a huge plus. Cleanliness: While the exterior might look a bit dated, the interior is surprisingly spotless. I booked a room for two, but the bedding and pillows provided were enough for four, which was a nice touch. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, and I was thoroughly satisfied with the cleanliness. Facilities: The private kitchen was a highlight—equipped with a rice cooker, pots, pans, a toaster, a fridge, and enough cutlery, plates, and utensils for four people. They even provide coffee, which I appreciated. However, there are a few downsides: the electric stove is small and outdated, making cooking a bit slow. Also, there’s no salt or basic seasonings provided, nor chopsticks, which might inconvenience Asian guests. The bathroom features a very clean bathtub, but it lacks shampoo and body wash, so you’ll need to bring your own. Despite these minor drawbacks, I’d still rate Mountway Hotel Apartment as the best value for money in its category. It’s practical, comfortable, and ideal for Asian travelers who want to stay longer and cook meals to suit their tastes. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a home-away-from-home experience in Perth!

EElyn PeeThis was our very first trip to Perth. If you’re planning to take trains or buses both within and outside the CBD, I highly recommend getting a public transport card called the SmartRider. You can buy it at the Airport Train Station customer service counter, located right next to the ticket barrier. The card costs AUD $10 (non-refundable), plus any amount you wish to top up. Using a SmartRider gives you a 10% discount on every ride. After the discount: Travelling within 1 zone costs about $3.15 per ride. Travelling between 2 to 9 zones costs only $4.68 per ride. There’s also a daily cap of $10.40, no matter how many rides you take. Inside the CBD, there’s a Free Transit Zone (FTZ) where bus travel is free. This hotel is within the FTZ, with a bus stop just 2 minutes’ walk from the entrance—very convenient. You can tap on and off any bus from this stop at no charge as long as you travel within the FTZ. Many buses from here go straight to Elizabeth Quay Train Station and Bus Interchange, where you can easily transfer to other buses or trains. Perth’s public transport system is excellent, with buses arriving every 10 minutes or less. There’s also a free CAT bus service with four routes (Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow). No tapping is required on CAT buses. A Red CAT stop is just a 5-minute walk away, on the street directly behind the hotel. If you’re driving, the hotel has a car park (charges apply). We stayed here for 6 nights. While the location and transport convenience are excellent, I would like to sincerely share some areas for improvement: Lighting: The room lighting was very dim, making the space feel gloomy throughout our stay. Brighter lighting would make a big difference. Water Pressure: Both hot and cold shower water had very low pressure, making showers uncomfortable. Air Conditioning: The air-conditioning was weak. We stayed in winter, so it wasn’t a big issue, but in summer it could be problematic. Carpet Condition: The carpets in the rooms and lifts could use replacement. Lobby Appearance: While not critical, a refreshed lobby and lift lobby would greatly improve first impressions for arriving guests. These are my genuine, heartfelt suggestions in the hope they can help improve the comfort and experience for future guests.
