We went to GWL to celebrate my daughter's 9th birthday. She had a blast at the water park, the ropes course, and everywhere else. If you're looking for a place kids will love that's a reasonable drive from the DC area, this definitely fits the bill. The pluses were that the staff was incredibly kind, helpful, and lovely, and the whole place was beautifully themed and very clean. The waterpark had something for everyone, from thrilling slides to play areas for toddlers. The Magic Quest game was also a blast. The major drawbacks for me was that it was so loud everywhere -- the water park, the main areas, the arcade. Investing in some sound dampening on the ceilings would really help prevent people from needing to yell to be heard. We were there on a summer weekend and it was also soooo crowded. My biggest pet peeve, however, is the magnificently stupid way they dispense soda. To get a soda, you have to scan a code on your cup and then a countdown timer starts and gives you like 15 seconds to get soda. Trying to help my 7-year-old through this process was both rage and panic inducing. People are paying $400+ a night for a room, please just accept a few cents of wasted soda here and there. The vibe is very much "discount Disney" (though the discount part is debatable), but we still had a great time. We'll probably go back because the kids loved it so much, but I wish they would focus less on trying to squeeze money at every possible turn.

While I had an enjoyable stay at the Great Wolfe Lodge facility, overall the company has shown themselves to de disreputable when attempting to rebook another stay. In accordance with their Voyager Program, I was awarded points that could be used to rebook another stay. I went into the system to use the points and rebook and found that the points listed as available for use did not correspond with my total points listed in the system. I phoned the reservation line to have this adjusted and redeem my points. I was told by the representatives that my points had expired this not being what was indicated in the system and despite the 15 m0th deadline not being illustrated on the screen. The representative refused to adjust the points for my stay and despite their system listing the points as available, refused to authorize their use for another booking. The company proved disreputable, stating your ability to use points that they will not honor for rebooking. If you are looking for honest a reputable service, take my advice, travel with a different wolfpack!

The space is very clean. I just didn't like all of the add ons. When i called, the parking was $16 but then when we checked in, the parking was $19. We are vegan, there aren't any vegan options in the buffet but we still had to pay $60+ for a mom and 2 kids. The rooms are so cute and so childproof. We only stopped here on the road so we didn't use the waterpark. I can only say that it was a safe spot for a mom travelling alone with 2 kids. It was a great respite for us after 8 hours driving. I just wish I didn't have to spend all the extra money on top of the room charge that I knew I was going to spend. We had a pool view room which was nice but the lights were so bright at night.

This is our second time at GWL at this location. We have had zero issues with the staff. They always do a great job. The rooms are nice, and they always have something for the kids to do. The only thing I do have to say is the lifeguards need more training, and honestly there needs to be more eyes on the water. Two lifeguards may be standard for the outside pool and the wave pool, but it isn't enough. PARENTS, WATCH YOUR CHILDREN! An incident occurred over the weekend that I am having a really hard time getting over. With a dozen families in the outside pool and two lifeguards on duty, a parent wasn't paying attention to her child and ultimately found him in the bottom of the pool. Thank GOD he was revived and taken to the hospital, but I'm not sure how long he was under, and how he is doing today. It only takes a second for something like this to happen. The lifeguard on duty, bless his heart, did what he could, but in a situation like that you have to stay calm. Even though this lifeguard was looking right in the pool and doing his waves, he still missed the drowning child. It is imperative to keep an eye on your own child at all times. I saw a lot of parents just socializing, and hanging out, and drinking, while their kids roamed free in and around the pool. I had to personally help two children back to the shallow end because they couldn't reach, which took eyes off my own children to help yours. Please help these lifeguards out by doing your job, watch your kids!

While Great Wolf is actually quite an awesome experience - the cost is OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH. We booked through RCI and that was just dumb on our part. RCI needs to UPDATE their information about this location. Parking is $19/night NOT $15. There is a $39.99 charge PER NIGHT which significantly raises the cost of this vacation. There is the $318.44 for the timeshare trade including tax for JUST a 3 night rental not even a full week Then there is $119.97 cost of the 3 nights at the place PLUS the $19/night parking charge. That is only slightly less than booking the unit through Great Wolf directly when you use coupons. AND you use up 28000 of your points. If you want Great Wolf - book directly NOT through RCI especially if you use Capital One coupons. The combination of point loss and exchange fee on top of the site fee makes it a stupid move to book through RCI. Won't happen again. UPDATE THE RESORT INFORMATION! As for the resort itself - amazingly fun and well organized. The staff are totally on point with keeping things clean and safe. The food is only so so and very very expensive. The room is comfortable and clean. Towels are great. Varied activities and great staff. We booked 3 nights but only stayed two nights - still 2.5 days of water park fun. Cost us $538 which includes the cheapest food we could find (we brought a lot of our own food) and one ropes course.

It makes no sense why yall can’t let a couple 19 year olds go out and have fun without a 21 year old present. Both my parents aren’t even in my life I’m stuck taking care of myself and a house but yall wanna consider 19 years old a kid. I ain’t ever coming back to this place even whenever I am 21 cuz I couldn’t even enjoy it as a “kid”

- The family did enjoy the water park but there were many accommodations that could use improvements. - The room was nice but there was no bathroom vents. - No towels, washcloths, soaps or toiletries for a room that accommodates 6 people. When requesting toiletries I was told to buy them at the gift shop and rags/towels were left in a bag on the hallway floor without he courtesy of anyone knocking at the door to acknowledge delivery.. - Daily room service is by request only but there is no documentation in the rooms to make customers aware of various rules. I would think there would be no issue with early check ins and definitely should not be a fee if guest rooms aren’t cleaned daily. - Activities like bowling, mini golf & climbing should be a part of the activities package instead of separate charges for guests. - Guests should be able to add food packages upon arrival or during the reservation process. It’s helpful to get a gauge of what is offered to allow you to make an informed decision knowing food quality and the value of packages. - There were not sufficient trash cans in the room and many guests had trash, towels and even dirty diapers littering and smelling up the hallways of an otherwise nice hotel. - The hotel also mentioned fees and surcharges for special occasions. I didn’t see it upon making my reservation. - I feel that although online features and apps are great guests shouldn’t be required to download an app for their visit to get a map, attraction times, restaurant closing times, etc. in an amusement/water park I tend to leave my phone behind to avoid damage. Having a fully staffed front desk would be preferable where general information is communicated. The front desk lines were extremely slow with few people in them each time I tried to get service. Some information wasn’t received by using the check in kiosk which glitched on me & made me start the check in process twice. I also still had to wait in line to get a parking pass. - It was nice that a representative did text me and I was able to express general needs because the front desk phone was constantly busy no matter when they were called. The only issue with that is you can spend hours texting them only for housekeeping not to show up after a multiple hour wait. When a representative asks you what they can do to make things better and you provide a solution only to be offered complimentary wolf ears was insulting as the representative acted as if their hands were tied on any customer service remedies to make things right. - The hotel could use some additional elevators. There is only one set of elevators in the center of the hotel but guests could have a walk the equivalent of two city blocks to get to their room which is not friendly to elderly or anyone with physical limitations. There is only other options was to take the stairs. And there is still a very long walk to the main area. - In the water park while going up the steps there were blue foam mats that a

Our family of 15 (9 kids age 4mo to 11 yrs) just went Thursday to Friday. We had a wonderful time in the water park both days. We arrived at noon on Thursday and our rooms were ready which were an added bonus, so the baby could take a nap. The water park was a great experience for the ages we had with us. Older teens may get bored. Even if a ride went down in the water park, maintenance was right there to fix it. Our rooms were basic and clean. There is a small frig for drinks and I suggest you bring your own. Snacks for the room are a good idea, too. The second day you can use the water park after your check out by 11 - there is a changing area available - just bring your dry clothes to change into before you leave. Staff was friendly. The kids did the story time by the fireplace at 8pm and it was very well done. Some of the kids also did the free morning craft. We couldn't make the dance party. The prices at restaurants and gift shop were what is expected at a resort. A big plus for the adults is there is a Dunkin coffee shop in the lobby. There are add ons we did not do like an adventure area, bowling, etc. We just clearly told the kids what we were doing and what to expect before we arrived. We ate off site for dinner at Denny's 2 miles away and even received a 10% discount for coming from the resort. Very reasonable prices and something to suit everyone. Watch for discounted rates and it is a good investment and treat for the family. I highly recommend the Key Lime Pie Milkshake for a special treat!

Terrible floor plan and layout. Getting to certain lodging can be the equivalent of walking 2 to 4 blocks. The lines are ridiculous. They have a kiosk station that is useless because the do not print out any add in packages. I ended up having to get back in line 3 different times. 1 the tap and pay on the wrist bands didn't work. The kiosk didn't print the pup passes and we can't get a birthday package given to us at a kiosk. There is no adult only area indoors. There is no where as an adult to get away from screaming children. There isn't any where for adults to relax and enjoy a calm swim. The hot springs are seasonal and they do not have a hot tub or hot springs available indoors for adults. I been to a few wolf lodges and this is the worst for adult comfort.
