Hotels near Bibliothèque Jean d'Ormesson, Perpignan

I found this hotel to be ok, with some strengths and some weaknesses. I don't believe the hotel has many suites so a suite upgrade as IHG Diamond might be unlikely - for our stay I noticed none were available on the day of arrival online, so I did not expect it. The state of the room was ok with no major complaints; it was clean and functional. Also some parts of the room were probably renovated recently such as the bathroom so it was a plus. Service was quite good and staff very friendly, noticeably more so than in similar hotels elsewhere therefore it was also a strength. What could be improved would be breakfast. The breakfast room was very full when we arrived so we had to take our breakfast in another room nearby which is used more for people with a laptop to do some work. The fruit salad seemed to be from an outside vendor with plastic wrap rather than the hotel cutting some fresh fruits themselves. Almost all hotels normally offer cut fresh fruits. Also the only vegetable available was uncut tomatoes. Thankfully breakfast was free as IHG Diamond otherwise I would not pay for it.

A very nice experience for a stopover on the way north from Spain. The hotel is perfectly located, close to the Autoroute exit, for a stopover on the way north or south. Reception was very friendly indeed, and the room nice and clean, with a good bathroom and a separate WC. There is a nice garden with a small poll, which is close to the restaurant and more like a plunge pool, than a swimming pool for families. The restaurant is very good, run by a friendly team and we had a very nice dinner. It was very hot that night, so open glass panels fronting the pool could have been closed and AirCo switched on, but that is a detail. Breakfast was very o.k. as well. We will visit again when coming along that route again.

The 2 stars given are for the location, however this is about all I can think of positive. No kettle, tea/coffee in the rooms and an awful smell of drains throughout the hotel especially noticeable when you vacate the lifts to enter your floor! Furniture in dining area is very dated , coffee machine at breakfast service was old and gave chocolate instead of cappuccino, informed staff but did nothing.. We stayed with another couple and would have liked to have enjoyed a drink in the lounge together but it was non existent as the furniture was not comfortable and the bar was never opened. Though due to the smell of drains we didn’t wish to spend too much time in there. There was a basket of croissants on the reception desk to help yourself, unwrapped! I suspect the leftovers from breakfast, however the hygiene aspect of this leaves a lot to be desired! To summarise this hotel is not a 4 star, very dated and needs much attention to bring it up to standard. We would not stay here again.

Good hotel: clean, good! bed, air-conditioning, breakfast room enough, near the parking garage where it is more advantageous than the parking of the Ibis itself! 4 dgn €35.00, at Ibis @44.00. The staff are always friendly to breakfast and clean up. No welcome, no friendliness, no helpfulness, no look at or when we walked, sitting alone talking to each other or watching in their screen. Even when you leave, no 'thank you for your reservation with us and a good trip'... Nothing of that. Not the most important but it's very bad.

Very good location for visiting Catalan Dragons rugby match. Easy to get to local sports bar and Stade Gilbert Brutus. Good value hotel and clean rooms. Staff were very friendly and breakfeast had a good range of choice. Good view from a high floor and quiet/comfortable rooms.

Location is correct - just 5-min walk from the city center... which you cannot reach by car - and rooms are spacious, silent and well isolated. Staff is helpful, active and cooperative. The place has two bad points though... 1. breakfast is next to the counter at the entrance and with not enough spots to sit in 'rush hour'; 2. one cannot download suitcases at front door 'cause entrance is in a walking part... the park place - public garage - is just 20mts away, but when it rains! it is a nuisance!! Anyway, the whole experience was positive and I would overnight there again if back to Perpignan :)

Stayed for four nights in early October. Always a pleasant welcome, and stored my bag without drama when I arrived before midday by train (directly opposite). Looking at previous reviews it appeared my room (214) was refurbished more than twelve months ago but was still pristine. Bathroom fittings were stylish, and indeed the whole hotel as many tasteful artworks displayed. I got the feeling someone has chosen everything from room directional signs to light fittings with great care. The room was small but plenty of open storage, and who comes here to stay in the room anyway? Comfortable bed and no traffic noise despite my room overlooking Avenue General de Gaulle used by many buses. Breakfast was similarly laid out in an immaculately clean servery. Fresh pastries, a selection of breads and lots of locally-sourced produce – the jams and juices were particularly good and even the coffee was roasted in Perpignan. There was never a queue for anything, including the water heater to boil eggs to your liking. Yogurt and cheese was always available and a selection of fruit changed daily. Definitely worth taking, and the hotel appreciates advance booking. The corridor carpets and stairs (no elevator) are getting threadbare, but I suspect they will be shortly replaced. The location was great for me. About 10 minutes walk into the central district past snack bars and kebab shops to reach a good selection of restaurants. I used local trains to visit Les Orgues at Ille-sur-Tet and the fortified town of Villefrance-Verdet-Les Bains. The bus (line 3) to Canet Plage and Canet Sud leaves from the other side of the station. Like every hotel, it is the people who make the experience. All the staff were lovely, and I'd certainly stay here again.

Because I had to take the train the next day, I booked this place. The rooms were ok and the supporting facilities were complete. Parking was charged separately, so we returned the car one day in advance.

The hotel is very beautiful and we will remember our service, respectful, innocent and irreplaceable. Thank you all, especially to Will from the reception and thank Trip for your seriousness and reactivity to the problems we have encountered.

Questa zona va benissimo per le persone che fanno viaggi di trasferimento verso la Spagna. Il Kyriad hotel, a differenza degli altri alberghi vicini (Brit, B&B, Premiere), è più curato ed il parcheggio non è proprio davanti alle camere (come gli altri, tutti simili fra loro). Dunque più silenzioso. Inoltre il parcheggio è chiuso di notte, quindi un po' più sicuro. Io mi sono trovato molto bene . Inoltre, il receptionist parlava anche l'italiano (!!!!). Incredibile ! 😊😊 Io non ho mangiato, dato che dovevo fare un.viaggio molto lungo...
