Aeolos Beach Resort

Overall, me and my partner were very pleased with this hotel, its clean, lovely setting, has good food and there are plenty of sunbeds! This review is going to be honest and I’m not going to be sugar coating anything…. There are a few elements that have caused me and my partner to feel somewhat disappointed with the hotel. I’m going to break everything down below… Cleanliness - 4.5/5 : the rooms are clean the restaurant is clean the poolside is kept relatively clean and there are plenty of bins dotted around the site. The majority of our holiday we were at the “Lagoon Pool” so this part of the review is based upon this pool, the largest pool in the complex. The only factors that reduced our rating of the cleanliness is the pool edges. The sides of the pool could do with a good clean and there is often dirt and grit on the floor of the pool (understand that this is difficult to maintain.) Staff 3/5 : The majority of the staff are lovely so for their sake it hurts us to give such a low rating for staff. Some of the staff are extremely rude, particularly the older man who works at the lagoon pool in the mornings. There was one day where he shouted at me and my partner for using a rubber ring as it’s “too big” barring in mind that this is half way through our holiday and no one else had an issue with this before, not only this, it’s not on the pool rules board about no inflatables, nor had any changes been communicated to us, there was someone else in the pool on a lielow low and they sell similar rings in the hotel shop! Asking him very calmly and politely why we are no longer allowed to use it he said aggressively “do you not understand me? The pool is too busy, reception said!” To this I turned round to look at the pool where I counted 11 people in the pool including the lady on the ‘pool mattress’ (lie-low) two other British families that overheard me talking to him spoke to me and my partner afterwards and expressed how they thought he was ‘being ridiculous’ and agreed that the pool isn’t busy in the slightest with one man saying that it’s the quieted he’s seen a pool in the day whilst on holiday abroad somewhere like this, to which I would agree. Another lady was rather angry herself with this as she’d brought her rings from the hotel shop highlighting that if they’re not allowed to use them on site then they either shouldn’t be selling them or should make it clear at the time of purchase, which they didn’t! From that point on every time we saw this man he would stare at us and in all honestly made both me and my partner feel rather uncomfortable. We hoped everyday that he wouldn’t be there again, and the one day that he wasn’t we were soo happy! What made it feel so targeted is that every single day there were other people in the pool with similar sized inflatables and some much bigger… they were never told no… just me and my partner.
