Hampton Inn Pensacola-Airport (Cordova Mall Area)

The hotel is nice and staff is friendly, but we had lukewarm warm water in our room. We called and reported it, but they said there’s nothing that could be done.

I stayed here after a cancelled flight. And it was a good experience.

Hampton Inns are normally solid and consistent — they're not fancy, but they're serviceable and comfortable and usually pretty clean. While mostly serviceable and fairly comfortable, my room wasn't particularly clean, and it felt as though a general lack of care pervaded the entire building. Had I been staying for longer than one night, I would have complained, but as my stay was so brief, I just dealt with it. For the price I paid, I wish I had stayed elsewhere — they're certainly not competing on value. The hotel is conveniently located near the airport, and there's not a lot of aircraft noise, so that's a plus if you're flying in or out of Pensacola. The gym is small, and it's mostly cardio-focused, but there's a weight machine, some dumbbells, and two benches. At the time of my visit, there was only one towel there, and there wasn't a ton of traffic, so it doesn't seem like those are checked or restocked regularly. The Peloton bike was missing the straps on the pedals, the weights, and it made some strange noises, but it did technically work. My room was large, but I didn't use the sitting area at all, so I can't speak to the comfort there. I did notice some handprints on some of the surfaces that I'm pretty sure I didn't make, so I don't think those were wiped down well if at all. The papers that greet you on every hotel dresser looked like they'd been recycled through several guests, and while I'm all for reusing things, it felt emblematic of the experience overall that they were in rough shape. The bathroom layout was kind of ridiculous — an expansive room with the toilet located in the corner right behind the door (this layout is visible in some of the property photos on TripAdvisor). Frustratingly, the toilet bowl didn't appear to have been cleaned, and that was the first big red flag in the room. Later, when I was showering, I noticed that there was some long hair circling the drain — I was traveling alone, and I don't have long hair. Not that I wanted to luxuriate in the shower anyway, but it was disappointing that the hot water never got actually hot. The vent in the bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned recently (or perhaps ever), and there were kind of gross smears on the light fixtures. There were marks on the ceiling as well — I have no idea what caused them, but they contributed to the room feeling not entirely clean (obviously exacerbated by the other things that had not been cleaned). In the hallway, there was work underway, but it wasn't left in a way that was at all tidy — I didn't see any work being actively performed during the day I was there. I was really disappointed with my stay here, especially with respect to cleanliness — there are many options nearby that deliver significantly more in a similar price range.

STAY AWAY!!!!!! Absolutely the worst Hilton Hotel I have ever stayed in. Floors were wet, rooms were musty, mold on walls, toilet water leaking into hallways, carpets stained everywhere, doors and trim dirty and scratched, ice machine removed and water just dripping in bucket, ceiling on main floor had rust around vents, tv and counter in the room was dirty, old appliances sitting outside the hotel and much more. I have called Hilton to complain which they say I need to contact the hotel manager. Ila Jacobs is the hotel manager that will not take a call or email. I have called 5 times and emailed once for the last 2 weeks and have yet to receive a call or email back. This manager needs to be fired! I am really upset that Hilton can not do anything about this unresponsive manager with a poor hotel maintenance program. Ila has been the manager for over a year and has yet to even change her voicemail information. It is still the old managers information.

The staff was pleasant. No shampoo in dispenser and almost out of soap. Looked like no one was cleaning or monitoring that.

Nice hotel
