Outstanding, I had a superb stay ,the George is unique
Whilst, having a timeless aspect ,magnificent historic building it has modern features, and aspects,that make it very comfortable.
The best hotel experience, I have had for year's, I am looking forward to staying again, a perfect end to my
Christmas break.

We went in on the off chance off getting a table for a Sunday evening meal and were surprised at how quiet it was. We were shown to a table and our order was taken. The food was very tasty and hot and the 2 members of staff we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. I understand that the building is old, but it is certainly looking tired both inside and out. All in all a very nice meal though.

Nice old hotel dating back 300 years? Interior was very original and grand. Breakfast was nice, served by waiter, although I found seats in main dining room uncomfortable. Ones in entrance lounge were better! Room was nice although on Friday night there was excessive noise coming from another pub outside until 1 am. Saturday night seemed quieter! Handy for everything in Penrith, as centrally located. Would I go back.....Yes!

Food was basic, vegan burger was a frozen burger. Not the best I have had. No option of salad or fries like the menu states.
