Host Vickie of Abbey House B&B definitely made our first trip to Penrith a truly memorable experience. She was prompt with our pre-arrival queries. We love our suite with the "Thoughtful Drawer", bathrobes and delicious breakfast spread. Bonus is also its convenient location to train and bus stations for day trip to Lake District as well as walking distance to village squares with quaint local-owned artisanal shops, markets, and diners. We wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights. Thanks Vickie! ❤️

We really enjoyed our stay at Abbey House. The B&B was lovely and clean and our room was very quiet. The owner also gave us some great recommendations for places to visit for dinner. Our full English Breakfast (included in the price) was excellent too. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone who is thinking of staying in Penrith and it's an excellent choice for anyone wishing to travel to the nearby Lake District.

Came to the lakes with some friends for a long weekend. Stayed at a few B&Bs before, never had a bad experience in any. But Abbey House and the lady that runs it was NEXT LEVEL!! So welcoming!! And acommodating. We came in three seperate cars, and were worried about parking. But there were plenty of spaces at the back of the house, and she even moved her own car so that we could park right in the back driveway. We had booked the family room and two other double rooms. And WOW! So spacious! Plenty of room to hang all of our (hundreds of) outfits. Plenty of natural light, and we just love the clean crisp air up there. Food was second to none, and Victoria (the landlady) even gave us great advice on where to go in the evenings (as we had some fussy eaters in the group lol). All in all, a fabulous experience!! We will be returning to Abbey house as soon as we can. THANKYOU Victoria, and your lovely husband who was always on call to help us with our bags (bless him). See you soon. Steph and “the gang”!xxx

We stayed here for three nights and absolutely loved it! This B&B is so well organised and welcoming that we felt at home right away. Our room and bathroom were fresh, modern, and spotless, and every breakfast option we tried was delicious. The host was wonderful—warm, friendly, and someone who clearly knows how to make guests feel comfortable. She even helped us with our laundry and gave us tips about local restaurants and places to visit. The location is just outside the center of Penrith, but since the town is small, everything is within easy walking distance, from charming restaurants to handy supermarkets. Best of all, there’s a bus stop right near the B&B that takes you directly to Ullswater Lake. We took the bus to Pooley Bridge, continued with the Steamer to Howtown, and then hiked along the breathtaking shores of Ullswater to Glenridding—an unforgettable experience! We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would wholeheartedly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the area.

Lovely friendly with a great breakfast. Perfectly situated on the edge of town. The room was light and felt fresh, bathroom same. Will return in future, as Penrith is on of the friendliest towns we have ever visited. Lots of variety in the bar restaurant category so no shortage of choice for dining out.

Lovely b&b Vicky was really friendly and welcoming. Room was good with lots of little extras that made us even more comfortable. Homemade rocky road being just one! Very easy short walk into town which has nice independent shops, bars and restaurants, and a large supermarket just round the corner for all the things you forgot to bring! We had no problem parking and tye road outside was quiet overnight. Good breakfast too

As B&B ‘s go it wasn’t bad, the breakfast was lovely, parking round the back was fine. Wasn’t much room around the bed but we’re not too big!

.. and we were not disappointed at all. Vickie is a very welcoming host and the room that we had was very clean and with everything you'd need. It is only a few minutes walk from the town centre with independent shops plus Sainsbury's behind the B&B and an M & S only a few minutes away.
