Hunters Lodge Inn

One night stay on the way home from a long journey. Was absolutely perfect, arrived very near to closing for food orders but really nice of them to go out of the way to make sure we had a meal. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Lovely breakfast was also included in the price. Would recommend with out any doubt. Thank you

Very good hotel. Stayed recently whilst on business in the area. Staff are very welcoming, check in and out in person, rather than some electronic machine. Food in the bar / restaurant is good, service is slick and always cheerful. Minor downside is breakfast is not served until 07.30, as I had to leave early I didn't really get chance to sample the full English breakfast; however the chef did do a quick bacon sandwich to take away, which was good. Room was great, spacious and clean with complementary tea/coffee (and biscuits!) and good maid service. Bathroom is also spacious, if a little dated. Although the hotel is on a main road, do not be put off by potential traffic noise at night as the rooms are located in a lodge area the other side of the pub/bar and are very quiet at night. Overall, a genuinely nice place to stay, lovely food, great rooms and very friendly staff and atmosphere.

Great place to visit or after a visit to the races we had a Wonderful stay staff very friendly couldn’t do enough for us place & room was comfortable warm we had a lovely evening meal not expensive and price paid inc breakfast that was really nice great choice free parking this place has it all this place deserves more than 3 star

my duo partner wasnt ready so i had to remove him from the lobby. that is why im solo. ANYWAYS, upon arrival at the hunters lodge inn, i was greeted by a young chap called otan possee. this young man aproached me with great fierce muscles. He came up to me and flashed me, he got his dingaling out and started swinging it in the air like he was a bloody AH64 Apache helicopter. furthermore, he then proceeds to call me very mean names. these names consisted of letters. As i picked him up from the waist so i could get past him, i went to the MAIN BAR and orded some scrummy dummy beef stroganiggaoff. after waiting 2 hours! my stroganiggaoff was soft and crusty. i was about to start munching on my stroganiggaoff and out of no where, just like peddy, swung otan possee swang at me, knocking my socks off. As i was on the floor, i even saw him with my BEEF STROGANIGGAOFF and he started eating it before my eyes. Otan possee after eating my Beef Stroganiggaoff, then decided to have the audacity to ask if i wanted to see him birds. He then showed me a picture on his cellular device of a bird covered in otan's special (of the day) white sticky sauce. I am DISGUSTED with how i have been treated at Hunters Lodge Inn and i would like to demand a free meal. I would highly like to actually enduldge myself into the Beef Stroganiggaoff just because how good it looked. I would also like 50p alongside a couple of sachets of ketchup.

First time of going here and very enjoyable too, a lovely roast meal with a bottle of wine, the plats where warm all the meal was hot. The staff were very pleasant even the owner came over and had a chat. Two carvery's and a bottle of wine for £41.90 yes I'll be back, thank you.

On arrival the outside of the building looked stunning with plenty of parking. Upon entering the pub to check in we were greeted by a lovely member of staff called Hannah who instantly made us feel very welcome, making sure we knew everything we needed to before we went to our room. Later on in the evening we came to the pub for dinner which was just Incredible, again the service from Hannah and her colleagues was fantastic. The food was delicious and piping hot and the portion sizes were brilliant and desserts topped the night off beautifully. Breakfast the following morning, again we were greeted by a very welcoming Hannah who took our order and again the food was delicious and hot. There was a selection of cereals, juices and yoghurts as well as a nice selection of cooked breakfasts. And most importantly they do fried bread which very few places seem to do now. We left with full bellies ahead of our day of exploring Shaftsbury and Dorset. Our room was very spacious and light with a nice selection of hot drinks and of course some delicious biscuits to dunk in our brew. The room was warm and welcoming and very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and made for a lovely night sleep. We had a delightful stay thank you to all the staff we met during our stay!

Welcoming friendly staff. Old fashioned pub and accommodation. Clean and comfortable. Great for an overnight stop. Had the Winchester Suite which was spacious. Bedding was spotless. Room and en-suite was clean with the exception of heavily scaled showerhead which nevertheless was hot and powerful. Good choice of breakfast and freshly cooked. Would definitely stay again when travelling through.

Just back from a lovely week at The Hunters Lodge. Used it as base to explore the local area. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Food was that good that we ended up eating there every night. Especially enjoyed the unlimited pie night! Staff were very friendly and made you feel very welcome. Would highly recommend.

What a delightful place to stay. Easy to access, parking on site and our room had a view of the sheep in the fields! We arrived late and were able to have a bite to eat after a long day of travel. Our room was spotless with lovely fluffy towels and extremely comfortable beds. A wonderful experience we highly recommend.
