Went there for an evening meal with my family. We loved the fact that tables were not cramped close to each other...we like some space and there was plenty of that coupled with a very relaxed ambience. Food was excellent with one tiny exception. Great that drinks were not at ridiculously over-inflated prices...at least not the beers and ciders we had at a reasonable £4.20 per pint.( I have stopped paying £18 for a £6 bottle of wine or £6 for a Guinness which seems to be the norm in many local establishments.) We were served very attentively by a charming and friendly young woman called Eve. The sight glitch was that the meal my daughter ordered was supposed to contain a salsa sauce which it did not. Some to and froing with comments from the chef which were relayed by an embarrassed Eve. Chef should have done so in person and not made her do it. Overall a good experience and we are making a 50 mile round trip to have lunch there today.

There were 5 of us out for Sunday Lunch to celebrate our Daughter’s 50th birthday. As soon as we arrived we were taken to our requested table. Everything was laid out and our drinks order taken. We shortly were advised that when we were ready we were able to go to the carvery counter. There was a choice of turkey, beef or pork and about 10 different vegetables. Every thing was so tasty and hot it was a pleasure to enjoy a well presented meal. Then there was a nice selection as a sweet course and followed by tea/ coffee if required. The whole experience was of the highest standards and a credit to the new family who are now the owners of “The Ash” well done, da iawn. See you soon.

Excellent welcome from start to finish, we arrived at different times but were immediately welcomed and shown to our table, as we were quite a large party for an evening meal I must say i wasn’t expecting much, but the service from the waitresses was exceptional, and they went above and beyond to meet everyone’s needs. The food was very tasty and all cooked to perfection. We were made to feel welcome and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to book for a large group / or family meal.

I booked a table for 2 , for Sunday lunch, and I explained I was in a wheel chair and could not walk. When we arrived we could not get into the hotel front entrance as there were steps, and were sent around to the side entrance.Once seated very near to the carvery distribution centre,a waitress came to take our drink order.I asked if there was any fish as a choice,no ,just 2 vegetarian options containing nuts.I am not a vegetarian nor am I a squirrel,I prefer fish.As there was a menu board on the wall advertising Sea Bass ,I was disappointed.I had a small meal on a blue plate as opposed to my husband who had a large meal on a white plate. The chef who was wearing a very dirty apron when cutting the meat, repeatedly told me I needed a blue plate, which I couldn't reach. As he was cutting the meat another person came through from the kitchen, scratching his rear end.Eventualy when we sat at the table, the food was cold and so unappetizing, cheap food sold expensively . We were regular customers up to a couple of years ago, but because of the attitude of the staff then who were very rude, as was the owner, we didn't return. We read on trip advisor some good reviews,so decided to try again. We will not return nor will we recommend.I applaud local people who want to support a local establishment and seem to enjoy the food.Cheap food, mostly frozen and cooked quickly. No thank you, when we go out for a meal ,we like well cooked food, clean areas, and staff that wear clean aprons and don't scratch their bottoms in front of customers. I worked for many years in the private catering industry,I wouldn't have lasted long if I had served food that bad.We didn't eat it,but paid the bill and left. The hotel need to cater more for disabled customers as to entry to the building, help from staff carrying food ,no one offered to help me.
