The Gate Cornwall

We visited The Gate for a two night stay & stayed in The Loft studio apartment. The studio is very nice with a very comfortable bed, table & chairs, very nice shower room, balcony with gorgeous green countryside views, a bathtub on the balcony if you fancy a bit of alfresco bathing & a tiny kitchenette, which was very useful. There is also a good coffee machine with pods provided. The TV can also get Netflix etc & that was good too. There is a restaurant there too but it was closed during our stay & we didn’t need it as we had breakfast in our Loft studio. The owner Richard was excellent at communicating with us, giving us tips on restaurants & places & beaches nearby to go. He was an excellent host. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect weekend stay It was a kind of last minute booking so we were very lucky to strike gold with this place. Pictures looked great, but I think the reality was even better. Everything has been finished to a very high quality. The bed was extremely comfortable and all the binds work as they should. One of the nicest showers in a hotel I have ever had. The bath on the balcony was what sold it for my wife who enjoyed two alfresco baths and loved them both. TV worked perfectly and was a nice new large one, extra bonus someone forgot to sign out of Netflix and Amazon so that was nice. Little self contained kitchen has everything you needed and only 5 minutes in the car from Looe so no problems shopping. Plenty of parking and easy to find. The owner was totally on the ball, very welcoming and helped us out with everything we needed. A perfect relaxed weekend in a lovely part of the country. Definitely stay there again.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel in Countryside My husband & I had a lovely stay at this cosy boutique hotel tucked away in the countryside. We had the Lower Deck wich was perfect for us. We were able to park our car outside our room! We had a lovely patio area with amazing views of the countryside. The studio apartment was decorated beautifully and was very comfortable. Alot of attention to detail and the bathroom had very fancy toiletries, even down to room spray! We had a lovely dinner at the Charlie Walters restaurant in the hotel! The food was amazing, the service was excellent & the desserts were incredible 😍 If you're looking for a relaxing stay in a boutique hotel I would highly recommend staying here. You will need a car tho to get around!

Small boutique hotel with excellent rooms and a great dinner menu. Staff brilliant. Not walkable to Looe and taxis back are a nightmare if you have washed your meal down with a tipple. No hot breakfast and the conti we had cost £12 pp with no meat/cheese/eggs/toast/cereal for it. Bread and pastries were excellent btw

Amazing stay, Highly recommended! We had an amazing stay at The Gate. The property has been renovated to a high boutique standard. This provides it with a fresh, clean and contemporary feel while also comfortable. The rooms are very well equipt with all the details you could want. We stayed in the Loft Studio and very much enjoyed the outside bath which provided a fantastic experience while also feeling private. The team were so kind and made you feel very welcome, they went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay. They were always there to help with a question or recommendation of which they had plenty for places to eat and visit during our stay. We will look forward to visiting again.

Beautiful and relaxing It was so beautiful, peaceful, charming, and relaxing. Owners where lovely and the all loved our dogs! Will 100% be returning. The decor and location were 10/10. Highly recommend the baths on the balcony.
