Polean Farm Cottages

We stayed in Rosebud for a week with 2 young children. We very much enjoyed the games room, the tractor rides (the girls still have the bruises 🤣) and the girls did not want to leave the guinea pigs behind - we had to make sure they hadn't hidden then in the boot when we left!! There were a few things that let the accommodation down. The main thing was the cleanliness. The oven gloves with mould marks on them, the airer was rusty and the bathroom could do with another wipe down. We radiators downstairs did not appear to be working; the shower head in the ensuite could do with being replaced and the chimney could do with a sweep. Also, the beds were terrible - the mattresses desperately need replacing. We holiday and travel a lot and these beds were the worst we have slept in.

We stayed at Polean Farm Cottages in Looe for a week in August 2024, and I can honestly say it was the worst holiday accommodation we have ever experienced – and tragically, it was the last holiday I had with my dad before he passed away in December, which makes it even more heartbreaking. The pictures on the website made it look so amazing but they were misleading. The children’s indoor play area had rodent droppings, the swimming pool and several other advertised facilities were shut, despite it being peak season, and the general maintenance of the property was shocking. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, the shower was blocked and nearly flooded every time we used it, and the lounge sofas reeked of urine. We actually had to clean them ourselves, several times, just to make it bearable. We tried repeatedly to contact the hosts (who were away at the time), and the person left in charge on site was completely uninterested and offered no assistance whatsoever. This stay was an utter disaster and we will not be returning!

We stayed in the meal house for a week and had a lovely stay. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. I’ve seen some people post about the lack of amenities (toilet roll etc) this is self catering - not a hotel? Bringing our own wasn’t an issue. The tractor ride, games room and outside play area our daughter loved (although could do with an update and clean…) our only issue was the WiFi was temperamental and didn’t always work. I also expected more animals on the farm. However, overall we had a lovely week and would definitely visit again!

We had a lovely week at Shires Rest, which was comfortable and had everything we needed. Our little ones loved the animals, tractor rides, animal feeding and the games room/play areas. Polean Farm is really peaceful and well located close to lots of great places to visit. We had amazing weather which was brilliant! I’d definitely recommend it as a place to visit, particularly with small children. Also thanks to Sarah and the team who were so helpful at tracking down our son’s lost cuddly toy (sadly left behind oops) and posting it back to us!

We had a lovely stay at the Polean Farm. Our 10 years old was happy to feed the animals and be surrounded by nature. Lovely walks, fresh eggs from the chickens that are on the farm and a cute cottage (accommodation). I would recommend it to anyone with or without children.

We booked an out of season break in March and we loved every minute. Our cottage was so cosy and peaceful and very spacious!! It was very clean when we arrived too. My daughters absolutely loved the Guinea pigs and enjoyed the games room. I messaged a very helpful and friendly lady to ask if we could book an out of season feeding experience, I’m so glad I did my girls loved it!! Simon who lead this experience for us was very patient and friendly 😊 Our only recommendation would be if maybe different toys etc could be added in the game room We will definitely be returning 🥰
