Bagolyvar Panzio

After visiting the city of Pécs with friends, we stayed one night in the hotel/panzió. We also had diner in the adjacent restaurant. The hotel and restaurant are built on a slope at the outer part of the city. The restaurant's terrace offers a stunning view over eastern part of the city. You can have the same view from your hotel room, provided you book the right room... The restaurant is Hungarian cuisine, of an above-average quality. The personnel is friendly and helpful. Foreign languages (English, German) are spoken very limited, as almost everywhere in Hungary. The place is beautifully laid out in full traditional Hungarian style. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. One drawback, that may be essential: There are stairs to be taken, which may be too long and/or steep. There is NO elevator!

We enjoyed our super cool stay these little authentic wine houses. The location is perfect, quiet and has a view over the city of Pecs. The rooms are small but big enough to stay in. Lovely furniture and decorations all over the property. Service was excellent and the food tasteful.
