Hurtwood Hotel

I had booked rooms 15 and 4 last week and they both have serious drainage and plumbing problems. In room 15, the shower water took hours to drain away and ended up a strange yellowy colour. The toilet periodically flushed and by the time we decided to vacate a day early, had completely stopped flushing. The room also stank of drains. My daughter stayed in room 4 and in the early hours of 13 September a leak through the beam in the ceiling started and was still going strong the following morning.. After wandering around the hotel in the dark in our PJs, w eventually discovered that there was an emergency button on the consul on reception. The Deputy Manager and her husband both came to the room. We then learned that this is an ongoing problem connected to the plumbing in room 15, where we were staying. They put out a pile of towels to soak up the ongoing leak. This was not clear, fresh water - it was a dark orangy looking colour, possibly from the toilet outflow. As this is an ongoing problem between these two rooms, is the carpet harbouring dangerous germs? We obviously did not wish to remain there and cancelled our stay. We were refunded at the time but there was no offer of compensation for the miserable night we had had. We were simply reminded that we needed to vacate our rooms by 11 am!! I contacted the Manager yesterday - no response at all so far.

Weekend break another great stay at the hurtwood staff so friendly and always made to fill welcome we stay here because it’s dog friendly with so many great walks around the area. We will definitely be back as we have stayed many times. Big thank you to all the staff keep up the good work .

A real gem hidden among the tiny lanes of this beautiful part of Surrey. The rooms were attractively decorated and very relaxing. Beds can be such an issue in hotel-hopping but ours was really comfy and we slept so well! Breakfast was excellent and hearty too! All the staff were friendly and it was clearly an atmosphere where they valued each other.

Much better than I had expected and very good value. I booked directly with the property and was impressed at the value for money. Room was very nice and staff very friendly, It’s a pub so not that quite although very quite after about 10.00 pm. Good food and pleasant surroundings. Would definitely recommend.

One night. Fabulous. Great bar & food. Large room & bed. Friendly staff. Can’t fault it. We run a pub. The cask ales were well conditioned & cracking. Lovely full English breakfast too. I’d go back tomorrow Thoroughly recommend. The room was amazing, spotless & the power shower really did its job! We slept like logs as it’s so peaceful there. Thank you guys

An amazing stay and so peaceful. A Great location for walks/biking. The pub food and breakfast was fab and the staff really friendly. The room was really spacious and beds are extremely comfy so plenty of rest. I would highly recommend a visit.

We had a fantastic stay at this Bed and Breakfast. Our deluxe room was clean and comfortable, the staff was very accommodating, and breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back for another stay.

A lovely 2 night stay here in December. The staff are absolutely fantastic and fully devoted to making sure their guests have a great stay. The room was very comfortable, and the food in the bar/restaurant was super too. Would heartily recommend this place.

What a hidden treasure. We checked in Monday and left Saturday morning. Not once did we have a need (per sei). The staff was friendly, professional and quick to provide any service we requested (more towels, coffee pods). The morning breakfast was phenomenal and they made sure you didn’t leave hungry.
