Hampton Inn Boston/Peabody

Great hotel. Nice location. Good staff. Love the breakfast

I enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn. Everything seemed clean and taken care of. The breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed the pool. Weirdly, in the middle of the night as I was falling asleep (around 11 pm, if I had to guess) I heard lot of thumping and banging and at one point the light in the "hallway" by the bathroom and door came on and turned off. I didn't have contacts in or glasses on, and there was a wall obscuring my view, but it seemed like to me that someone had somehow opened our door and flashed the lights on, then off, which was very unsettling. The person I was traveling with was already asleep, and therefore was completely unaware. I eventually got up when all was calm to go look at the door. The door chain security lock, which I'm not sure is what it's actually called, was still in place, but I did notice the light switch was right next to the door, meaning that someone could've reached though our barely open door and flipped the lights on and off. I'm really not sure what was going on. My best guess is that a hotel staff member didn't know we were there and maybe wanted to clean the room, but doing so at 11 pm would be a bit odd. My second guess is another guest might have mistakenly been given our room number and room key. I really don't understand what was happening, but whatever it was, it was very unsettling! Besides for that though, this hotel was great.
