This lodge was selected by our travel agent during our one month trip to India. While I would love to give the lodge 5 stars there were way too many hiccups for such a rating. If you are looking for a beautiful lodge in the forest nearish Corbett Tiger Park this place might suit you. For us, the location was terrible. We often had to spend 1-1.5 hours to just get to a Corbett gate. This involved 0500 departures, down a very steep and the MOST rugged/bumpy 1 km hill to get to the parking lot to transfer to our safari jeep. Doing this steep hills 4 times a day (up and down) becomes tedious even in the lodges’ jeep with suspension. There also appeared to be a huge disconnect between the hotel & restaurant staff. During our stay we never had a clear understanding of meal times/rules. For our first morning safari we were told be could return for hot breakfast (nice if departure is at 0500) but after return to our room were called & told that was not an option & could only order vegetarian meal. So we ordered the veg packed breakfast (in the morning we were told however it had to be consumed before park entry (NO food allowed past park gates, NO bonnet breakfasts in this park). Later, upon return from morning safari, restaurant manager told us we could’ve had a hot breakfast after safari (I think buffet - never got to try it due to poor communication of hotel/restaurant staff). Instead we were forced to try to cram in lunch in less than 30 minutes before we needed to depart for afternoon safari. There were no exceptions to this rule or allowances for the tight schedule which made this very stressful. Dinners were buffet which was a first after visiting 3 luxury lodges in Central India. Only on the 2nd night dinner when found nothing on buffet met expectations (non veg) were we “allowed” to order off a menu. Every night after dinner we ordered our packed breakfast but as soon as we returned to our room someone else would call to tell us that what we ordered need to change. Eating was a huge issue at this lodge and something that could have been easily avoided with clear communication, ample/detailed information about lodge timings/food availability, etc. While the room felt luxurious/equal to other luxury lodges in Central India - the hot/cold mixer for the shower was awful!!!! You either scalded or froze - it took an act of God to get something in between! While the room’s outdoor seating area facing forest was a nice touch, trash/toilet paper(?)just past the glass partition was a turn off to spending any time out there. My recommendation would be to find a different lodge (closer to the park gates without the terrible rocky hillside drive up & down), better food options, better service/communication to match the luxury product I thought we purchased.
