Veda5 Ayurveda & Yoga Retreat

Had a wonderful 5-day stay at Veda5 . The sattvic food by Head Chef Devendra S. Negi & his team was outstanding – perfect mix of taste, health, and purity given each day in every meal . The staff and doctors were very supportive and caring. One suggestion: Please add spirituality sessions like satsang or scripture talks who talks about the truth to complete the wellness experience. Highly recommended for a peaceful and healing retreat ( if u ready to stay away from phone).

Warning: Harrasment and disrespectful Staff at Veda5 I strongly advise against this place, especially if you're a pretty white woman. Unfortunately, my experience was marked by consistent harassment, and I believe it’s important to warn other women. The behavior of the men working at the restaurant was appalling. Out of six employees, only one acted professionally. When standing there they were obviously looking at my breasts. If I stood at the buffet my ass. Constantly a focus in my direction. The atmosphere felt like a group effort to "charm" me, with each of them taking turns to approach me. It was difficult to get them to leave, and all I wanted was a peaceful meal with my husband, not constant unwanted attention. There was a creepy, predatory vibe in that restaurant, a desperate, almost hungry need for contact that made me extremely uncomfortable. They seemed particularly interested in white women and unfortunately, I was the only white woman at the hotel. They had no problem doing it in front of my husband. They didn´t care. They almost did it to provoke him and you could see they were having fun about irritating him. It seemed like a power game to them, as if they had a right to act this way. There was an obvious lack of respect for personal boundaries and for our relationship. I would definitely not recommend any yogi girls to come alone to this place. These men are obviously into pretty white girls. This situation was especially distressing because I came there for detox treatment and needed a calm environment for my wellbeing. This constant harassment made it a very stressful stay. Despite calling the reception and even speaking to the manager, nothing changed. The men didn’t stop their behavior, and it seemed my request was nonexistent. The manager promised to take action towards the staff, but it seemed like just words since nothing changed. He likely shares the same lack of respect. In general, I would say the manager handled the situation in a very unprofessional way. It seems like he was trying to hide his bad management from everyone else. In the end, my husband had to step in and speak to the kitchen chef directly, threatening to physically maim them if the harassment didn’t stop. That’s when they finally backed off. I don´t understand why this situation was being handled so poorly. The kitchen staff should never have behaved like this towards their customers. The overall experience at Veda5 was extremely disappointing: - The hotel, though only seven years old, felt dilapidated. It was poorly constructed, with noticeable wear and tear, and it didn’t look anything like a luxury retreat. - The cleanliness of the room was disgusting—dust in the corners, dirty windows that obscured the beautiful mountain views, and we had to clean the windows ourselves. - The hotel had poor insulation and gaps where insects could easily enter. - The power went out every 30 minutes. - The Wi-Fi was very unreliable. - T

Lovely healing and healthy week of relaxation, Ayurveda treatments and yoga. The food is beyond delicious. Chef Devendra is outstanding! Felt so nourished at every meal. The Ayurveda center was rejuvenating. Room had a beautiful view and balcony. The yoga classes when solid and had clear authentic teachings. They helped me arrange a taxi from Dehradun and back to Rishikesh. Highly recommend!

Very nice property in between the hills. Ayurveda treatments are very good. Food was saying and very good quality. Ideal for relaxation and ayurveda ,Yoga and meditation experience . Very polite staff.

It was very peaceful place and I loved the way how they welcomed us in very nice manner . We were climbing the stairs that also made us do exercises.They provided great sessions like yoga and cooking class. The hotel Staff treated us politely and they were very kind to us . Food was like super se bhi uppar and chef Devender Negi made very tasty and healthy food. The live music made my evening enjoyable . My husband and I stayed at Veda5 for four nights and wished we had four more—we absolutely loved it. We were looking for a peaceful, restorative stay with yoga and meditation, and that’s exactly what we found. The property is stunning—tucked high up a long, winding road into the mountains, it truly feels like a secluded perch. Our room had a beautiful view of the hills, and the whole place radiated calm. There is also a pool overlooking the hills that was a perfect place for a refreshing dip in the afternoon heat. The food was incredible. Huge thank you to head chef Devendra! Each meal was a thali of unique, flavorful sattvic dishes—every bite felt nourishing. We looked forward to every meal and loved chatting with the kind, welcoming staff in the beautiful dining room. Each day brought a new schedule of activities: yoga, meditation, spiritual ceremonies, and more. We especially enjoyed the morning yoga classes—such a lovely way to start the day. The evening pujas with Gobind were a highlight. He made us feel welcome and included, and his chanting and beautiful offerings made the ceremonies feel really special. I also visited the Ayurvedic spa and had an incredible traditional full-body massage and then a turmeric and sandalwood facial. The treatments were deeply relaxing and felt truly therapeutic, rounding out the wellness experience in such a meaningful way. All around, an amazing stay. It’s not luxury in the traditional, high-end resort sense, but that’s part of what makes it so special. It’s comfortable, peaceful, and deeply authentic—every detail feels intentional, from the setting to the food to the people. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a grounded, nourishing retreat away from the bustle of downtown Rishikesh!
