New Choice - Excellent We stayed here hooking up with friends who winter here a couple of months. There were no reviews to check when we booked it. The hotel has only been opened 4 months with just 7 rooms. We chose the most expensive and largest. This house has been in a family for centuries and just converted. My guess is from the 1700's as there are books in the library - living room copywrite dates form 1845. I assume much of the furniture and art work were from the family and very old. If you are not into lots of religious art this may not be your place - we loved stepping back in history. Rooms surround a central furnished courtyard open to the sky. Simple fresh breakfast - each morning was different and fresh squeezed juices excellent. No AC - not necessary though can be cold at nights and has gas converted fireplace in each room. The staff was excellent and friendly though English can get you only so far. Break out your Google Translate app! Very quiet due to thick walls and rooms comfortably dark at night. A very good value for the money. Many good small quaint hotels in Patzcuaro and though serendipity I think we got one for the best value.
