Along with 50 other male friends I spent Friday & Saturday night at this hotel on a walking weekend. We were given a warm welcome by the extremely pleasant lady on reception. The rooms were clean and comfortable if you were sharing a double room, although the single rooms were extremely small indeed, as a good friend of mine found out, having to put his back pack & other bits in his equally small en suite! The food was good (apart from the porridge NOT GOOD AT ALL. The two gentlemen on bar staff duty obviously missed out on the (how to make guests feel comfortable & courtesy course. However the one thing we all agreed on was one lady in the dining room Hazel. Although just as busy as the rest of the team nothing was too much trouble for Hazel & as busy as she was every thing was done with a smile. Would I stay at this hotel again? Definitely but just not in a single room.

First time staying at the Patterdale and what a fantastic experience. The 3 course meal is delicious, cannot fault the food along with the excellent service. We had a warm welcome from all staff, especially Hazel who is absolutely fantastic! Great value you for money, we will be visiting again!

This was our fifth visit to The Patterdale Hotel. It is unfailingly welcoming and it's good year-on-year to see the same staff, especially the team in the restaurant who are so friendly and attentative. The value for money offered for the January deals is amazing. It is hard to fault but I will make two minor observations 1. Given how much excellent ale is to be had in Cumbria I would welcome greater choice. For two days there was only one draft ale! 2. Once upon a time the hotel had an excellent drying room. Considering how many dedicated walkers stay here and the ever present possibility of wet weather the fact that the drying room is no longer is more than a shame. Drying wet kit in your own room can be a chore However don't get me wrong this is a great venue for all visitors to the Lake District

Lovely hotel, simple clean rooms, really nice bar and restaurant area. Breakfast was plentiful and hot. Evening meal was fabulous always choices for each course all perfectly served by Hazel. Such a Lovely lady. Plenty of walks from the hotel.

Great place to stay. Easy access for fantastic walks. The hotel was busy, the staff were amazing. All smiling, friendly and very helpful. Glenridding is a pleasant short walk away. Shame the weather thwarted our plans to do more fell walking. Thoroughly enjoyed our short break at The Patterdale Hotel.

We had a fantastic week at The Patterdale Hotel. The staff are really helpful and friendly - always ready to chat, interested in your day and have tips and suggestions. The food is really good, rooms comfortable and all of it is great value for money.

8 of us have had a fabulous 2 night stay. Lovely clean rooms and fabulous evening menus. Special shout out to Hazel who took care if our every culnery needs. Actually all the staff went beyond to make our stay welcoming. Will definitely be back. Xx

After visiting Patterdale several times this year, we again have had an spectacular time, the weather was perfect, snow everywhere. The hotel staff as usual were All exceptionally good , reception staff , bar staff Andy Christian and Mike were amazing as normal. Restaurant staff again just perfect, Hazel doe’s brings a ray of sunshine to the restaurant!! ⭐️ Andrea Ian and all the staff were excellent. Not forgetting what goes on behind the scenes, Housekeeping and the amazing chefs and kitchen staff. Just a PERFECT weekend !! See you all soon. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stayed over Christmas and New Year. A fantastic time overindulged by the hotel. Fantastic staff, nothing was a problem for them. An excellent manager who certainly went the extra mile. Really good food. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.
