Let me say right away that we are not the kind of people who pick on every little thing, we have been traveling around Asia for a long time and have something to compare with. But this hotel left mixed impressions. Mostly negative. We were there for the New Year holidays from 24 to 25. We rented a Family Suite. These are two rooms connected for two.
Pros:
1. Relatively good location. Walking street and the pier, from where you can get to the islands, are within walking distance.
2. "Smart" home in the room and new TVs
3. Surprisingly tasty borscht was served for breakfast a couple of times. And in general, the breakfasts were simple, no frills, but quite normal.
4. Friendly staff.
And now about the cons.
1. Location. This is both a plus and a minus. Since the hotel is at a crossroads, it is very noisy. Our windows overlooked the courtyard to the pool, but even there you could hear everything.
2. Noisy guests. The hotel apparently cooperates with Indian travel agencies, and the area as a whole is "Indian". The culture of behavior of those who arrived is disgusting. Every night until 4 am they can talk loudly by the pool, hang out and laugh, shout over the balconies. At the same time, the administration does nothing to stop this. Only earplugs saved us. 3. Cleanliness. We initially checked into the 3rd building. But when checking in, we were shocked by the state of the room, which was rundown and there were cockroaches in it. At first we were told that there were no other rooms, but we insisted and we were given another room in the 8th building, which was a little better, although just as "tired". But a day later we found cockroaches there too. We did not change the hotel. Since everything was paid for and it was difficult to find a new hotel during the New Year dates without losing money. Cleaning was done regularly, but it was formal. Only towels were changed and the bed was made. The sheets were not changed. On the second day we came back from the beach and left some sand in the hallway. For the entire 10 days this sand was never swept up. I'm not even talking about what was happening under the bed. So we gave up and put the do not disturb status on the doors. There is no point in such cleaning. One evening we went to have dinner in their restaurant, which provides breakfast in the morning, and when we sat down we found a cockroach running around the table.
4. Technical equipment. Yes, the TVs are new, and there is a built-in control system for lighting and air conditioning via a station on the bedside table. But not all the buttons correspond to the designated lamps. Plus, the USB port and Internet on the panel do not work. But these are trifles compared to everything else.
5. Service. The staff is friendly, but most of them have zero knowledge of English, to put it mildly. Something can only be explained with fingers. The waiters in the restaurant can not really tell you anything.
6. Pool. We chose the hotel because of it, among other things. It looks good. But we didn't take into account that the pool is surrounded by hotel buildings. And direct sunlight practically doesn't reach it. Therefore, it's impossible to sunbathe there and, most importantly, the water doesn't get very hot because of this. Therefore, you won't be able to chill in the pool, you can swim, but the water temperature isn't very comfortable.
