The Hira is a beautifully maintained traditional guest house meaning the doorways are low. The host, Yelous was extremely gracious and provided us with lots of information regarding the area and customs. Also the Guest house is steps from the Golden Temple and Durban Square. If you are looking for an authentic experience look no further.

Amazing location within 1 block of Patan's medieval Durbar square. The bulding is so old and charming. I love the staircase. Very cosy and the family so welcoming. Dinner felt like a family get together but with other travellers. Yelos the owner gave me a tour of the local back streets, courtyards, and alley ways of the medieval town that you would never get from a normal guide. This is a living place you wont easily find anywhere. Highly recommend this place.

We have had an extraordinary stay at Hira Guesthouse. In all senses, the charming Newari house, all the delicate details and attentions of Manju and Nishan, the peaceful spot where it is located but at the same time so close to Patan lovely atmosphere and Durbar square. Manju is an extraordinary host, and cook, she even organized a lovely dinner preparing Nepali local dish, Dhiro, that was so tasty and delicious. Breakfasts are incredibly plentiful and varied. Everything was more than perfect. We are looking forward to come back and we highly recommend to stay at this accomodation if wishing to discover Patan and have a rest from hectic Kathmandu. Hira Guest House is the *most worthy* guest house in Kathmandu! The location is directly across the street from The Golden Temple and just around the corner from Patan Durbar Square. The host, Monju, is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend taking your breakfast and evening meals at Hira Guest House - they are nutritious and delicious! The wifi / internet is fast. The rooms are traditional brick and wood Nepali construction. It survived the 2015 earthquake with minimal damage. The rooms face an interior courtyard. In the evenings they are very quiet. And you awaken to the sound of bells from the golden temple. It is worth talking to Manju about her broader and value-led work. I look forward to returning!

Dans cet hôtel de style néware de plus de 300 ans, vous êtes accueillis avec un thé et un gâteau népalais en guise de bienvenue. On accède à la réception par une cour intérieure où l’on est très vite isolé des bruits de l’ancienne cité royale. Les murs de brique rouge, les boiseries noires et les lumières tamisées créent une belle intimité. Cette authentique maison de charme sur trois niveaux propose, au premier étage, un espace détente chaleureux donnant sur la cour intérieure (où l’on pourra prendre son petit déjeuner), et, au deuxième étage, une petite terrasse donnant sur la rue et le Golden Temple qui feront, en plus des charmantes chambres avec salle de bain privative et une literie confortable, un nid douillet pour un séjour exceptionnel dans l’ancienne cité royale.
