Relaxed excellence, 5+ star design and decor, customer service, food and facilities. The Sun Siyam is one of those hotels that can be at maximum occupancy and you’d never know. Unoccupied beds by the pool and on the beach, exemplary, attentive service by the staff and the highest quality of unobtrusive excellence from all. From the first evening (we were a very late check in) the staff made us welcome, remembered us and had a table ready for us. My husband needed gluten free food and the chefs were always ready to run through ingredients. The dishes were full of flavour, varied and catered for all tastes. Our favourites being the traditional curries, especially the dhal. The attention to every small detail, the friendliness of the staff and the chic design makes this hotel outstanding. From the moment that we arrived at Sun Siyam-Pasikudah, Arshed the GM and his team made us feel that our 4 day stay would be extra special. Arshed welcomed us, we spent a few minutes chatting and then 2 of the team gave us a fantastic tour of the hotel and the extensive facilities, rather than just handing us the keys and letting us work it out, as many hotels do. That personal touch continued throughout our stay, the staff were super friendly, the food was varied and tasty and the pool looked out onto the beach and cove setting, which was stunning. They provided good evening entertainment with local singers/bands and a great touch was a separate room for karaoke🎤. There was no shortage of sun-loungers, the wi-fi was excellent and we’d thoroughly recommend Sun Siyam as a gorgeous resort that recharges the batteries and gives you that 5 star hospitality experience. We had a wonderful time at Sun Siyam. We stayed for 5 nights as a family. The rooms were tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. Special thanks to housekeeping especially Janidu for looking after us and his beautiful artistic towel decorations on our beds ❤️. Extremely friendly and attentive. The food was of a very high standard and although I’m not normally a fan of buffet dinners, they were incredibly good. Lots of choice with a live cooking station- thank you to the lovely chef on there( I didn’t catch his name) he made me egg hoppers each morning and grilled prawns and fish each evening with a smile. The breakfasts and evening meals were delicious, always lots of variety but we always went for the Sri Lankan choices, even our 13 year son was choosing fish curry, string hoppers and roti at breakfast over the European options. Our waiter, again, I didn’t get his name , was extremely attentive, efficient and always very pleasant with a big smile. . All the staff from every department deserve a mention as they were all so friendly and welcoming, from the gardeners, pizza man, front of house and the man at breakfast scaring the crows away with his catapult. It was lovely chatting to the manager, learning about the hotel and its development and singing karaoke with him one evening. His Lionel Ritchie hello was brilliant! Ours on the other hand, I’m not so sure! Beautiful beach views and pool area, lots of sun loungers and we never felt guests were hogging loungers. We could wander down after a late breakfast without the stress of not being able to get a good spot. The sea was a bit rocky in parts due to the coral but I was aware of this before booking, the sea was really clear, safe for swimming and bathing. The sea swing and leaning palm trees make fantastic photo opportunities. I even got some lovely photos of the cows leisurely wandering up and down the beach. If you walk 5 minutes down the beach, the sea is easier to access but we were more than happy chilling on the hotel beach as it provided lots of natural shade with the palm trees. . We wandered down to the public beach a few times at sunset which was fun watching the locals enjoying the sea, singing and dancing on the beach. Weather was super hot and allowed us to enjoy some beach chill time whilst touring Sri Lanka in July. We have had a great time, 🙏 thank you.

Just got back from fantastic stay, all the staff are superb, food excellent and service was fabulous. Celebrated birthday whilst there and a cake appeared - what a surprise. Used hotel excursions and driver was phenomenal sorting out a change of venue to see the elephants as in short supply at chosen reserve. We went all inclusive and the variety of food was very wide even had a late check out at no extra charge. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
