I stayed at DoeloerKoe Homestay for four days and had an incredible experience. It was by far the warmest welcome I’ve received since the beginning of my long trip through Asia. As a solo traveler, I truly appreciate when I come across kind and genuine people—but this went far beyond then expected. Rifat, Wahyu, and the entire team made me feel like a part of their family. I will never forget that morning we shared together. The city of Solo itself is full of history and charm. Wahyu also offers great local tours by scooter or bike, taking you to visit various traditional workshops and artisan factories in the surrounding area. It’s an experience I can only recommend.

Ik heb een roadtrip gemaakt en kwam in Solo terecht. Daar heb Wahyu leren kennen in de home stay Doeloerkoe. Wahyu is een reisleider 1e klas. Wat zijn wij geweldig rondgeleid door Solo en omstreken. Niks was teveel. Wahyu spreekt uitstekend Engels. De lokale bezigheden en bevolking daar werden wij heen gebracht. Doeloerkoe is een fantastische home stay en goed verzorgd. Tip, mocht je naar Solo komen voor de eerste keer vraag naar Wahyu Prapto. En in een notendop leer je de omgeving ontdekken.

We stayed only two nights. The place is wonderful, out of the chaos of the streets, with a beautiful garden. The room was clean, the only problem was the humidity in the bedroom (maybe putting mosquito nets at the window could allow more ventilation). The breakfast was super good and Rifat was always ready to offer a cup of tea/coffee. Moreover, Rifat helped us to find a shuttle for Semarang and directly drove me with his scooter to buy the tickets! We loved the place and the way people helped us for everything.

Doeloerkoe was one of the best accommodations we stayed in all of Java. The owner and team are incredibly kind and welcoming. They can help with organising activities as there are so many interesting places to visit in and near Solo. Besides their excellent service, the accommodation itself is beautiful; there is a cozy courtyard garden and the rooms are very clean, spacious and tidy. The location of the homestay is central, close to the palace(keraton) and other touristic attractions and restaurants. We highly recommend this homestay!

This homestay is above my expectations. Located just a 5-minute walk from Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace, this homestay is very cozy, clean, and nice. Mbak Dwi is very helpful and nice. She greeted me when I came earlier and allowed me to check in. I got the best room in a nice garden. The room is very clean, with all the facilities (including my own bathroom) for me to rest after a long trip. The breakfast is so yummy and very traditional. Highly recommended for family or solo travellers who come and visit Solo.

I didn't expect that the homestay would be this excellent. This homestay is fantastic, far from my expectations for a homestay. The place is so clean, cozy, and nice. I got the best room in a nice garden. The room is very clean, has its own bathroom, AC, and all the things you need to rest. Mbak Dwi is very nice and helpful. They keep the homestay clean, safe, and comfortable for people to rest. The homestay is close to everywhere, just a 5-minute walk to Palace, a 15-minute walk to Balai Kota and Pasar Gede, and a 15 minute walk to Kauman Batik Village. A lot of food stalls nearby, you may not get hungry. In the morning, Mbak Dwi served a nice traditional breakfast and the best coffee tubruk. I feel like I am at home with all their hospitality. It is highly recommended for family and solo travelers to stay here when they come and visit Surakarta/Solo.
