SSRI I.Host Vickie of Abbey House B&B definitely made our first trip to Penrith a truly memorable experience. She was prompt with our pre-arrival queries. We love our suite with the ”Thoughtful Drawer”, bathrobes and delicious breakfast spread. Bonus is also its convenient location to train and bus stations for day trip to Lake District as well as walking distance to village squares with quaint local-owned artisanal shops, markets, and diners. We wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights. Thanks Vickie! ❤️

GGuest UserIt is a short 15min walk from Penrith station and a cozy b&w. Breakfast is served to your room as the owners are elderly and want to keep covid safe rules ongoing. Otherwise, a very pleasant experience, neat room with kettle and coffee/tea if you need, tv, nice shower room and towels provided. If you want a less commercialised experience and more local experience, this b&w is recommended!

GGuest UserLove the location, the views from the hotel & dining room. The restaurant was good, young inexperienced staff that very very nice but a little clumsy.
Checkin receptionist was very curt, but check out person the following day was lovely.
All in all, loved staying here again.

AAnonymous UserReally enjoyed my stay in Room 5 of this inn. There was ample parking for guests. The room was cosy and clean.
I especially loved the breakfast menu at this inn. Every night, you can fill up a form with your selection and in the morning, you just walk up to your assigned table and breakfast is served!

YYANGThe only thing to complain is the waitress in the restaurant. She’s so arrogant, cold. She seems the only one to take orders at dinner and breakfast time . It’s very hard to put up with her. I only left 2 pound tip. That’s only for the courtesy. she doesn’t deserve the tip at all! We planned to stay in the same hotel on the way back from Scotland, but hesitate because of her bad service as it’s hard to avoid . It’s inconvenient to have meals outside the hotel. .., Plus the salad served with old whole leaves !!! Sausage roll was served with two burned sausage in two pieces of dry bread with not sauce or butter on. 除了餐厅女服务员的极差服务以外，酒店其他一切完美！前台很热心， 酒店环境非常美！ 酒店有停车场！

GGuest UserStayed here several times, even a couple of times when they had only just re opened following each of the Covid lockdowns and always enjoyed, had a fab welcome and the rooms are clean.
Not saying its perfect for everyone as some of you will not be a fan of the gold and red decor in the rooms , reception and corridors. But its not shabby its just old fashioned.
The bathrooms are moden and the bar and restaurant have had a face lift with a not ultra moden colour scheme of cream and blue but it suits the building style.
Dont expect spa, gym or pool and dont expect room service or cocktails.
But you will always get a warm and friendly welcome and service.
The setting is off the beat and track , but worth finding this gem, at the side of the woods , with stream running over waterfall and rock oh and keep your eyes peeled for red squirrels.
Food is good at breakfast though no veggie sausages which some did complain about, food is good value in the evening though a limited choice of 4 starters 4 mains and 4 puds including a veggie option. Yorkshire portions for the main and loads of veg.
Bar prices higher than pub prices but not that bad for a hotel.
