Dinned at Finn’s previously on a few occasions with no problems. My wife and I took friend for lunch for his birthday. One of the prawn dishes was abysmal to say the least, I should have sent it back but ate the prawns but left the rest. Plenty of prawns but overcooked and served on a very small overflowing plate with mixed vegetables and a big bowl of rice. When it was raised with the waitress, her response “I will raised it with the manager” who was not available, was less than adequate.

Great service, clean comfortable, spacious rooms.. lovely spa bath. Soooo nice to have doors opening onto a balcony. Parking is off street and felt safe. Great location for wandering to the beach and other food places etc. Easy to get to and close to main road. Trains ran very close and often. Trains and barrier arms were very quiet during the night. Overall, I loved this place.

Large room with free wifi sky sports channels and trackside tv microwave so can bring own food from supermarket spa bath and next to station with train to wellington or north.....lift to second floor and rooms cleaned daily

Food and drink were nice, but the service was terrible. Locals were all served before us at the bar, as tourists we were ignored. Waited 20 minutes on a desert menu before giving up. The restaurant wasn’t even busy; only 1/4 of tables were full.

We were leaving Paekakariki stattion at 6am on a scenic train ride so this place was so convenient, being right next door to the train station. The staff were very friendly and showed us the gate we could go out as a short cut to the train station. Room was HUGE and warm and had a comfy bed and a great shower which are the two things I rate accommodation providers on. Was grateful to be able to get off the train at 9.30 pm and make a dash through the driving rain to our warm room. Will stay here again.

Have been here a few times in the past and has been great. Seen this place is now under new management and the quality has definitely deteriorated. Chicken was tough and stringy and the fish burger was just average. Our mains came out while we were still eating our shared entree. Won’t be going back.
