I was looking for a clean, safe place to stay during a recent trip to the area as a solo female traveler - what I found was anything but that. Check-in took forever (more than 30 mins). When I finally got to my room there was hair in the bathroom. Ew. It was late so I wiped it up and moved on. There was also still garbage in the can. When I pulled back the covers to the bed there was HAIR IN THE BED. It was midnight but I wasn't going to sleep in a dirty bed. I called downstairs and told that someone would come with clean sheets. 60 mins later I called again when no one had come - it was now 1 am. I was told ”they will get there when they get there” and the person hung up. Finally the manager on duty showed up with a sheet that had holes in it. I had to wait another 30 mins for her to return with a clean set of sheets. By now it's about 2 am. She then lays into me how this is not her job and she is the manager on duty and that I should be thankful she came at all. ??? I'm sorry what? She launches into a tirade in my room at 2 am. I asked her to leave a few times citing the late hour and she would not. My husband heard the entire exchange as I had him on the phone. I asked for the manager to call me the next day - no one ever called. I called every day I was there and no one ever got back to me. During my stay I observed: urine in the elevator, garbage in the hallways, questionable guests of guests coming and going at all hours down the hallways, questionable things going on in the parking lot at all hours and a lot of noise. The room itself was filthy beyond the hair in the bed and bathroom. I checked in at night in daylight there was a thick coat of dust on various surface and a used bandaid on the desk chair (ugh). These were things in plain sight. Management contacted me after my stay only when I complained to Marriott. They refuse to take responsibility for their employee's behavior or the concerns I relayed re: cleanliness.
