I was on an organised trip that used Villa Ema, so stayed for 3 nights. It's a very small and homely hotel with a rustic, communal dining area which adds real character. The rooms are very new and extremely comfortable - the only downside being that you can hear everything happening in the corridor outside and the plumbing is very noisy. The staff make a superb range of Bulgarian food which was perfect after a day in the snow. They also make a very nice birthday cake. The bar is a very much "help yourself to a bottle from the fridge" which works perfectly, then pay for everything before you leave. Even though the hotel is small, the friendly atmosphere and family feel make this a great place to stay.
