We recently stayed at Verandah by the Valley (Treehouse) by SaffronStays and were extremely disappointed with the cleanliness and management. The place was not well-maintained—there were cobwebs, and it was clear that proper cleaning had not been done. Our friends had previously stayed here and had booked through SaffronStays, and back then, it was well-kept. The owner asked them to connect with him directly for any future bookings. However, when we tried to book directly, and so we did the bookings with him directly. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing like what our friends had described. To make matters worse, when we raised our concerns with the owner over WhatsApp, he didn’t even have the decency to respond—just left us on ‘seen.’ This lack of professionalism and care for guests is unacceptable. A resort’s upkeep and management’s responsiveness are crucial to a good stay, and unfortunately, this place failed on both counts. Would not recommend this place to anyone. The pictures online and the actual place are very different.

We stayed at the treehouse. And that was terrible. Saffronstays had misled us. The bathroom was not en-suite as they claimed but out across the balcony. Anybody walking form the bathroom to the room would be in full view of the labour working in the garden below. And at night it was dark with no access to the lights. Saftey was an issue. Then they lied about the steps to the treehouse. It was not down but up 12 steep circular steps. Fortunately we were old enough to climb. Heaven forbid we had difficulty in climbing steps. The upkeep was poor. Broken body soap dispensers and toilet seat. Garbage very easily to see. As easy to see as the excellent valley view. The good part was the food. Excellent maharashtrian food. Sorry to see how SaffronStays, a premium brand, has this kind of experience. Our previous experience at another property of theirs was very good.
