Hyatt Regency Panama City

Beautiful facility, great rain shower. Staff gave us a special treat for our anniversary! Wish there were kids club and pool was very small.

This Hyatt Regency is new in 2025. We live in Panama outside of the city and have used this hotel on five different occasions for our trips to the city. There was a small issue on one of our stays, but it was resolved quickly. The staff and service have been wonderful. The rooms have all new furniture which is very comfortable, especially the bed. The rain and hand held shower are both very nice with a lot of pressure. The buffet breakfast is extensive and includes an omelet station and fresh made pancakes, waffles and french toast. This is the best breakfast buffet that we have had in a hotel in Panama City and one of the best that we have had at any Hyatt. We recommend booking this hotel.

We have stayed in this Hyatt Regency as Explorists under the World of Hyatt loyalty program 3 different times in the last 4 weeks June/July 2025. The staff have been wonderful. Also the hotel renovation is quite nice. On July 6th around 7:30 am the electricity turned off in the hotel. This is not unusual in Panama and we waited a few minutes for the generator to turn on. It did not turn on after a few minutes which would have been normal. By 11:00 am, after surviving without electricity, water, internet or working hotel phones, we decided to walk down the 19 flight of stairs and find something to eat outside the hotel. We did not carry our luggage down the stairs. We returned to the hotel around 2:00 pm and the electricity was back on. Thank goodness as carrying our luggage down the stairs would not have been pleasant. We have really enjoyed our previous nights at this Hyatt Regency but it is difficult to ignore the lack of testing critical equipment in this hotel such as the generator. In Panama, Naturgy, the electric company, has many problems and it is not unusual for electrical outages. Even though we have really enjoyed this hotel and the staff, it will be difficult not to worry that we could be stuck on a high floor with no electricity, no water and no internet for hours.
