Palmetto Beachfront Hotel, a by the Sea Resort

We booked the Junior suite with full kitchen.   Great view of the beach.  Comfortable bed. Coffee available in lobby 24/7.   Things to love…walk right out to the beach, gas bbqs and outside tables. Two spas, large pool, easy walk to Winn Dixie, Whiskeys, Muy Wayne Os and other restaurants and stores.   Things that could be improved: Full size coffee pot is great if you are staying more than a few nights— no filters provided, given they say they can’t provide filters a Keurig would be a better choice.  The cookware is cheap everything sticks to it.  No scissors or basic first aid.   The room is ready for upgrades:  something used to be mounted to the dresser and there are several holes that make it look trashy, no anti-slip or rail in shower, no bathroom fan, bathroom door sticks, pillows are uncomfortable.

They lied about the beachfront hotel when I booked, they stuck me and my friends across the street in their overflow building because they gave our room to someone else. Terrible place

Booked and paid for our room back in May for a double with view. Upon check in I was informed that we were put in a king room across the street that did not look safe. I explained to the front desk that that was not going to work, and the general manager overheard, and he told me the booking agent entered king room instead of the double with view which is list on my email confirmation. Then the general manager told me I can cancel my reservation. I told him that was not an option, we are here now, we were from out of state and where did he expect me and my family to stay during 4th of July week, which was very rude and uncalled for. I did get his contact information and will be reaching out to him very soon. I did contact the booking agent, and they place blame on the hotel - so a lot of back and forth there. Now to the room, I'm not sure how old the hotel is but from my understanding it was nicer last year. There is mold in the bathroom, the shower curtains need to be replaced, and ceiling tiles were hanging and broken handles. Asking housekeeping for extra towels is like pulling teeth, much attitude was given. If we ever plan to go back to Panama City Beach, we will definitely NOT stay the Palmetto Beachfront Resort!!!!!!
