Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. I stay here often and love it. It is an authentic, classic older building with all that goes with that: some quirks but incredible character. This time the shared bathroom needed attention and when I texted hotel staff through their app it was cleaned within minutes. (When I stay with my spouse we book a room with a bathroom, but when I'm here solo the shared bathroom is fine.). Check out Reposado across the street for dinner and don't miss Coupa for breakfast!

Love the location! The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. For a past era hotel, it is well kept and the staff was helpful and friendly. Older hotels have some challenges like A/C but we managed with ceiling and tower fans.

Love the Cardinal! This place is the quintessential “funky old place”, tons of charm and character, nestled in the heart of downtown. Stay here all the time, never disappoints. Just a heads up… if you do t want to share shower/bathrooms, make sure you choose the correct room option!

Perfect location, very comfortable beds,great service. Definitely would stay again. The rooms are clean and the historical hotel is quaint and charming. Excellent restaurants close by and just a brisk walk to the awe inspiring Stanford University campus.

We were lucky enough to spend the last night of our vacation at The Cardinal, with a view to meeting with friends. What a treat! The lobby is stunning, help yourself to coffee there, take the old original elevator up to your room, it all adds to the charm! Our gorgeous room smelled lovely, luxury bath toiletries & the comfiest bed ever. We had breakfast at Bistro Maxine, yummy! Stephanie & her team are so on point with this beautiful hotel. We can’t wait to return!
