We had a spa beach front room it was lovely. The staff was polite and helpful and we had a lovely romantic stay which was well needed. The pool was also lovely and a nice little sun trap. It’s not the most fanciest but we loved it .

Place is being renovated, so expensive for what it is. Location is great, and pet friendly basic, budget motel style rooms.

Greeted by a closed reception window at 4:00 pm on a Saturday… I saw a note with a mobile number to call so rang through to get an answering machine… left a message then started wandering around. Eventually found a housekeeper who said she’d check me in. Gave me “the only room available” (yes I had a reservation) which was not what I had booked. Welcome to Room 101! As you enter the hotel from the front, past the boarded up bar/ restaurant that used to be, you will pass two public toilets in the cavernous lobby after which you’ll find the door to room 101. Bright lights, and the noise of every single resident passing through the lobby on their way to bed that night was all for me! The “patio” that comes with this prime piece of realestate was two outdoor chairs located in the short space between two buildings of 3 floors in height and is shared only with the rumble of a dozen or so air conditioning units discharging their unwanted heat. The photos of the room I booked showed those rooms out the back, between the main hotel and the car park. Would have been happier there but there were only five still available when I booked mine so I guess I really lucked out… not a pleasant stay. The photo is of my smoke detector..

Apart from the helpful lady on the phone regarding checkin details, there was no service. Stayed there for three nights, no top up of coffee, tea, shampoo, etc, (only enough for first day) ......no clean towels and no-one at the reception when I checked out at 10am on the last day. Apart from location there would be no reason for me to ever stay again.........very disappointed :( I stay in $30/night rooms in SE Asia and get better service.

The receptionist, Ashley was the nicest person. Very helpful, smiling and welcoming. The facilities were clean, comfortable and convenient to the Esplanade, outdoor dining and beach. I particularly liked the rooftop pool and dining space... very lovely. Some added fairy lights would be the cherry on top for bonus ambience.

Sarayi Hotel was in a great spot with a cafe at the front of the building that served a great breakfast. There was parking available at the rear of the building which was very convenient. Restaurants and cafes were all nearby , you just had to choose left or right. We were in a motel style room on the ground floor for 4 nights , the bed was good and there was a small courtyard area. laundry facilities available. only negative was the foyer lights are on all night

In this scenario First impressions IS everything. You walk in the entrance and it looks like a boardinghouse. What was once a bar/cafe is a derelict eyesore with electrical wires hanging from the ceiling, yellow and black plastic tape cordoning off entrance and bikes laying everywhere. Up in the room - being a Water front room- is technically water front. The bedroom is at the back of the unit and has no windows. No doona on the bed just a thin sheet. Blanket in the cupboard was full of dust. Dust piling on the bed head. Bathroom is not connected to the bedroom and the bathroom door cannot be closed so all guests can hear you and see you on the toilet. No lift. Only stairs with rusty railings. Despite having a tiny pool and advertising that towels can be hired there are NO pool towels. Receptionist had to ring manager for approval to use bath towels and wanted to charge $6 per towel. TV in the Unit next door could be heard clearly. Cost was comparable to other places in Palm cove. Photos are very disruptive. This was not a relaxing or enjoyable holiday. The whole place needs a refurb and new management.

This hotel was both functional and at a handy location in the middle of Palm Cove. We had a 'courtyard view' room, with a sliding door opening out to a little outdoor area, but it rained all night so we kept it closed. We should have splurged for a 'mountain view' room. The room was big, with a couch and a very big TV. The bathroom was big and had a nice feel to it, with a window letting in a good amount of light and air. The bed was firm and very comfortable. The pillows were too poofy for me, and flattened under my head, so I used the small decorative cushion to sleep on which was the perfect height/firmness. The staff were friendly. It was a pity the in-house restaurant was closed - it looked pretty.

Very run down, old, smelly hotel. The bar inside is a building site. The service was the worst I have ever had, and we were not even able to check in because no one returned our call. We booked at 5pm and at 5.25 we attempted to call them, got diverted to a number in Brisbane. Left a message. We did 2 more attempts as we arrived a couple of hours later, and the reception was closed. We called a landline and mobile number as displayed, but still did not get an answer. So we left to go back home and finally received a call. When I explained the situation and asked for a refund they refused. I was aware at the time of booking that the rate was not refundable, and it would have been okay, but not getting back to us with check in instructions was not acceptable. Out of curiosity I called this Brisbane number that we were diverted to the next day after hours to see if it was in fact the hotel after hours number and the lady on the other end said, yes. So, we had a quick chat, but being a staff member only she could not further help. On top of this the manager is now telling me that the number I called in the first place, was a wrong number, even though I have got the evidence on my phone. Unbelievable. I can only suggest, find anything else if you need accommodation. They do not care about their customers.

Don't be fooled by photos on site. Very rundown and tired. Pool and spa were green. When asked staff they said it was always like that. Rooms with garden view were on a main thoroughfare which people cut through past all the units all day. So no sevurity. Only opening windows in bathroom and kitchen couldn't lock. The two big windows on bedroom were fixed panes of glass. No privacy without keeping blinds closed all the time and no insect screens so we were closed inside with air-conditioning on all the time. No kitchen sink only small bathroom vanity to wash dishes etc. Unkept back courtyard ugly. No broom to sweep sand.
Response from Property: Hi thank you for your review… however we are sorry we could not control the weather for your stay at Palm Cove. As we mentioned on multiple occasions the pool is not green..: the pool is serviced every week and is maintained very well by our pool contractor. Our Garden rooms yes look over the gardens and people walk by from the carpark through to reception and then on to the beach. All the windows have blockout blinds on them so not sure how there is no privacy. Also these are hotel rooms don’t have kitchens so there isn’t any additional sinks than the one in the bathroom. We don’t supply brooms in the hotel rooms either but if you need your room vacuumed from you bringing in sand then you can let us know and we can have the housekeeping fix that for you. Lastly we do have WIFi in the rooms however it’s available in the common areas. We also don’t advertise we have Foxtel either so no we don’t have it available. However thank you for staying and hope you still managed to enjoy your holiday even with it pouring rain!
