La Cite Hotel

This hotel is a little hidden gem, it is small and the rooms too, it has a lovely pool and gardens, and does continental breakfast and afternoon snacks to early evening, hot snacks which are good. Run by a family of really nice people who bend over backwards to be nice and give you a great warm welcome and they look after you well at all times. Great location at the back streets of Lixouri and very close to the ferry and town. I would recommended it for singles and couples aged 40 plus. This is one of the nicest hotels I have stopped in for being made very welcome, better than the big posh 4 start ones for sure, if you don't mind the humbleness of the building it might be a bit dated but do not let that taint you views, but it makes up for it big time in customer experience. Thank you to all the staff their, so lovely, made my holiday excellent.

Had a great holiday in lixouri. Hotel in a great location 5. Mins walk to the center. Staff Ellie and Thelka super happy and helpful. Pool and garden area perfect. Gardner busy everyday . Room 15 was an OK size but very small balcony. Bedrooms and especially the bathroom very dark and tired they really need a make over. Sheets and towels changed regularly and smelt really clean. Would stay again if rooms improved as everything else good. No rushing for sunbeds such a relaxing happy hotel.

just had a great week at this little gem,the staff are excellent and very helpful,its a very clean hotel,the pool an garden are very nice with more sunbeds than guests,so never a problem,i preferred the lawn with plenty of trees for shade,there is a bar they also do snacks in the day,now there has been one or two bad revues about the breakfast, well i can tell you there is nothing wrong with the quality and choice of stuff put out in the morning, there is to much to list.

Bit of a mixed bag good location great staff lovely gardens and decent pool area. Breakfast fine but basic and repetitive butalways plentiful. Rooms small but clean with good air con bathrooms very tired and dated. Experience spoilt by communal areas . Lounge and bar pleasant enough if dated but unusable due to complete lack of air con and extremely high temperature. Means if you are not in the pool area you are trapped in your very small bedroom in tje or early evening. Such a shame as generally holiday was good

We stayed here for a week in July. The hotel grounds and pool area are first class. The staff are attentive and friendly, the hotel in general is tired but clean. Our luck wasn't in when they allocated us room 33 (AVOID) it's tiny the toilet is situated between the wall and shower screen, and boy it's cozy! I'm only 12st but I needed to apply Vaseline to both shoulders to squeeze in! There is no extra charge for A/C and safe deposit which is very fair. The breakfasts are dreadful, We've travelled the Greek islands extensively and I've not had worse. The whole experience for us was spoilt by the seemingly penny pinching selection & quality of the offering. The coffee is putrid, and the Orange juice is not much better. The so-called ham has never seen a pig. The Watermelon apart, everything is grey and unattractive. It's a real shame because this hotel could be so much more.

We booked to stay here as a last minute holiday through Jet2, and we were not disappointed. While the hotel rooms are a little dated, they were spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was decent. We had a room with a larger balcony overlooking the garden and the view was just lovely (we like to sit on a balcony after coming back from our evening meal). The included breakfast was more than adequate and you had the option to order a cooked breakfast if that’s what you prefer (reasonable prices too). The pool was lovely and kept clean, as were the surrounding gardens which were well cared for. Plenty of sun-beds and the option to sit around the pool or in the gardens. The daytime meals were great and plenty of choice. What makes this hotel are the people who work there. Nothing is too much trouble and they were all friendly. If I was going to try and find fault it would be noise levels. The cleaners start early (around 8am) and anyone chattering if they come back late, the noise would definitely wake you up as it echoes through the corridors.. Saying that though, most people during our stay were settled in by10pm and up at 8am for breakfast. Lixouri itself is a working town and we loved it. Great restaurants, the town square that comes alive on an evening with greek families enjoying each other’s company and various entertainment. The friendliness of the locals and feeling safe. Would love to go back. The hotel is a short walk from the square and is ideally placed. Clientele at the hotel is mainly older couples (over 50’s) and it is suited to that.
