Paducah 1895 Washington Hotel

Be prepared to take care of yourself. Bedrooms upstairs - no lift. Shared bedroom, bathroom down the hall shared by 4 people. Polyester sheets. Pillow made of chopped up foam. Bed creaked with every movement. Decor is old and shabby. A dollar store in the area - no fresh food. No restaurants in reasonable walking distance. Street parking. 30 minutes walk from downtown Paducah. Public transport is limited. Booked the venue in November 2024, tried to cancel December, 2024 and were refused a refund. James was working during the day and was very helpful. I do not recommend this so called hotel.

We booked this place because we are seniors and love a well preserved quaint B&B. Their advertising is extremely misleading. We reserved what we thought was a two bed room in separate private structure on the ground floor. As you pull up on the busy street you notice that there is no designated parking in this rather run down part of town. As we walked up to the place we noticed the peeling cracked paint and very unkempt landscaping. Upon entering we were greeted pleasantly yet the first comment by the reception person were "If you can't give us a perfect review then we can talk about it". This is the first time in more than 60 years of travel that I have been threatened by an establishment to elicit a perfect review. That didn't deter us and then the clerk also said that "surprise" that breakfast wasn't included an it was $15 per person which she immediately charged to our card on record. Then we go to the room. In this separate old house ... not historic ... structure there are at least 8 tiny bedrooms ana small common area. Even though we had asked for a ground floor location the room she offered was up a flight of 17 narrow stairs. Once in the room we noticed that the bath was extremely worn and rusted and the outdoor furniture was so dirty that we wouldn't use it. It took about 5 minutes for us to get out of there and tell the clerk we were leaving. She told us that we wouldn't get our money back ...another threat ... and we said we expected that. Don't be lured by the expectation of some historic and quaint place to stay. For our wasted $140 this was probably the most expensive 10 minutes we have ever spent for lodging in our lives.

I like this style very much, and the service is very good. As a Chinese, I like the feeling of being in a small family.

The comfort of the otemised and staff was wonderful.

Great home This is not a hotel ...more like a home .visitors should respect the place and the ambience. Party guys ..stay away...

A solid 2 on a good day, not a good day. Extremely noisy. Would not recommend.
