The hotel is located on the northwest coast of Monterey Peninsula. It is the best choice for strolling on the beach and watching the sunset. The park has winding paths and beautiful environment. The twin room we booked in building H is a historical relic. It is made of wood and is dark and narrow. The doors, windows and lamps are rusty. The bathroom is even smaller and the washbasin can only be moved into the bedroom. The good thing is that the water supply for the shower and toilet is normal, the bedding is clean, and it is not difficult to adapt to it. You can experience the fun of immigrating to the West at that time.

We have some burnt out lights, the security chain was broken and they ran out of most food options during our breakfast. The Friday BBQ was free fun and there was good live music. The location cannot be beat.

The grounds are beautiful and food is actually decent but the rooms are an absolute dump. It looks like they haven't had a single upgrade in last 30 years. I stayed at a single room in Pirates Den and multibed at Windward and they're equally a dump. Dirty, grimy, and dusty. I was looking forward to extending my stay after my conference but absolutely not. Has so much potential if they'd be willing to invest in upgrades and a deep cleaning of the place.

Been coming to Asilomar for over 30 years. First time back since 2019. The room we were assigned was musty smelling, bathroom was mildew and mold infested. The walls are thin so of course the young couple next door made noisy love making late at night. The two sinks had rusted faucets that barely turned and the hot water was too hot. The carpet and curtains appeared to be from the mid eighties. The toilet WAS NOT minimally ADA compliant. The site seems to have deteriorated and there has been little investment on updating the actual hotel units. It is such a unique and beautiful grounds and the company running the place doesn’t seem to have a vision for improvement. On the plus side, the towels and linen were clean, the shower worked well, breakfast was decent, the cafe is quite good, the grounds are still lovely.

A very relaxing environment. The fire pit at night is really nice. The white sand beach in the morning is refreshing. A great break from the busy So Cal life I'm used to. Thank you for providing such tranquility.
