Inn at Cape Kiwanda

Wonderful trip with kids. The room with the pull out sofa and separate bedroom was perfect for our family. Proximity to the beach couldn’t be beat. We had great weather and really loved our stay and all of the amenities, from afternoon cookies, to the pool, mini golf and more. Loved our balcony looking across to the water, too. Great stay.

You will hear about the room upgrades - a way to justify the room rate increase. Don't fall for it - the rooms are overpriced. The rooms were better (function and comfort) before the "upgrade." In addition, service was less than expected. There was an issue with our room during our stay affecting our ability to enjoy our deck, and we were made to "feel lucky" that it was resolved - not completely to our satisfaction. I will never stay there again.

The hotel is on the main road which was noisy sitting on the balcony but the ocean views and view of Haystack rock were amazing. Easy to walk to a great coffee shop and bakery, restaurants, the beach, and a nice Marketplace next door as well. The rooms have been recently remodeled and were pretty nice. Hotel staff was friendly. Would recommend it .

Driving into the quaint but beach sprawled oasis after a white knuckled drive from San Francisco was the hot chocolate to my already beautifully decorated room—which included a fireplace! I fell in love with the Inn, adored the pampering at Headlands and Hart’s Camp: terrific concept!

My first complaint happened at check in. My husband had personally gone down three months earlier, to make reservation in person so we could have the room with the best view. It was for our 50th anniversary. Nothing was said to us as we checked in regarding the room. We got our key cards and went to go to our room. Only to discover we had been moved to the room at very end of building, with a great view of hotel parking across the street. We returned to the desk and were told then, that the room my husband reserved was not ready, they were being re-modeled. No phone call, not a word to us. We were told there are no guarantee on reservations. I spoke with the manager the next morning and told her what I thought. She offered to discount room, but at the end there was no discount. They did comp our meal at Pelican brew, which would have not been first choice to eat at in PC. along with that we found 1 ply tissue in bathroom, no hair dryer, no light in hallway where the closet is and also the full length mirror. No paper towels in the coffee area for spills, I used the hand towels and wash cloths. There is no fan or window in the bathroom closet. The coffee supplies were low, coffee awful. No coffee in lobby or continental breakfast, which you would expect at $ 530 a night. You have to go to there coffee shop and bakery and fork out more bucks. They had really cute water bottles in the frig, they were $10 if you wanted to buy. They had me pay for it. No note was made when the reservation was made regarding the occasion. Complete failure of staff. These are the little things I would expect at a small Inn. Last, because we were put in the very last room, with no wind barrier to our right. all the other rooms have privacy barriers which in turn are wind barriers. Not the end room, 318. the wind blew through it, it was freezing on that balcony. Thank you Cape Kiwanda for making us feel last. Especially because of occasion. We are full time residents of PC. We care give full time for a family member. When our other family come town, I wont recommend this establishment.

great location! right across from the beach, every room has a balcony with beach views. only disappointment was the indoor pool and hot tub located next door part of a convenience store. hot tub was not working, apparently it’s been out of service for over two weeks! pool was not much, felt like an afterthought, warm , no pleasant place to relax. room was very roomy with all the amenities.
