Hotel Shiva Palace

We were a group of three couples who booked 6 rooms for a two-day stay at a total cost of ₹6,200. Our check-in time was 6:00 AM. The booking was done with the understanding that all of us would stay for the full duration. However, due to an unforeseen personal emergency, I had to check out of my room at around 1:00 PM the same day. I clearly informed the property staff about the situation and explained that only one room was being vacated, while the remaining guests from our group would continue their stay as planned. I expected at least some consideration under the circumstances. Unfortunately, the response I received was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Despite the fact that I had stayed for just 7 hours, they went ahead and deducted ₹3,250 from the total amount. I politely requested them to charge a reasonable amount — even suggested ₹2,000 — which seemed fair for the few hours I had used the room. But instead of cooperating, they responded rudely and showed no empathy. One of them even said that they had an emergency at their home, to which I calmly replied, “But I’m the one with the emergency right now.” Still, they refused to listen and behaved in an extremely disrespectful manner. Their attitude lacked even basic humanity. Emergencies can happen to anyone, and a little understanding goes a long way, especially in the hospitality industry.
