This could have been a 5-star review...or at least 4-stars but...the operator of this motel evidently decided over-charging me by $20 was more important. When I checked in, I asked if they had a military rate, which they did, for a total of $79.45 for the room I got. Then they told me there was a $100 deposit, which I thought was excessive for the type of motel it is but ok...the total is now $179.45. I left at 5AM the next morning so I really couldn't physically check out as the office was closed...and I trusted them. After several days the charge finally cleared my credit card...for $99.45...$20 more than it should have! I've called twice during business hours but no answer; left a voicemail each time but no return call. I also sent an email...no response. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and they refunded the $20. It's unfortunate because this is a mom-and-pop establishment, which I like to support when I can. And the room was quite nice and clean and the area seemed very secure...off the I40 beaten path. Too bad.

Okay, so from the outside, the Oxford Inn looks a bit rough. But this is a situation where you absolutely should not judge looks! I’m a relatively well-seasoned traveler and am very choosy about where I stay, but I’d stay here again and again. Our room was SPOTLESS - absolutely spotless. The bed was pretty comfortable and the room was spacious. The owners (a woman and her son) are exceptionally kind and go above and beyond to ensure your comfort. The parking lot has cameras and they made sure we had room to park our trailer. We’ll definitely be back this fall!
