Great

Great location, stone throw away from Gloucester Green Bus station, walkable to all centre colleges. While room is tiny, it is clean enough to shelter a single traveller, you would like it if you appreciate party music, otherwise there maybe quieter options elsewhere.

The room is quite clean, but it is small, too small, but the price is not low but relatively low. The transportation is very convenient, and it is also convenient to visit the various colleges of Oxford University nearby.

The hotel is within a five-minute walk from the bus station. There are many shops nearby. It is located in the center of the city and the transportation is very convenient. The bed is not big, and an additional child will cost 50 pounds. The charge is a bit expensive. The other conditions are very ordinary. The bath products are of a good brand, including L'Occitane.

I checked out within 5 minutes of arriving. Do not go here as a solo female traveler. It feels extremely unsafe, small, and not private.

would rarely rate a hotel unless it was an exceptional stay or notably poor, often a bad experience for one person is a positive experience for another based on that person’s expectations. That said, I evidentially didn’t do enough research when picking The Bocardo Hotel as it was poor choice. There’s no doubt it’s a great location but that’s part of the issue. I was allocated Room 11, which 1 floor above street level with a window overlooking George Street. The room was small, a single bed and bathroom but tidy and clean. Unfortunately the room’s windows have very poor soundproofing so all whoops, hollering and shouting that was occurring on Saturday night from the pub on street level travelled straight into the room continuing until 1:30am. Once the noise has subsided it was a comfortable bed and reasonable albeit shorter night’s sleep. All I was looking for was a bed for the night, but this ended up being quite an expensive stay for what was a lousy sleep and of course didn’t come with any of the perks of a ‘normal’ hotel such as breakfast etc. Couldn’t fault the reception staff but I wouldn’t stay here again even if the room was half the price.

We booked this hotel because it was the only one available on our dates at a reasonable price. After reading the reviews we were very scared, but we got a very good surprise. When we arrived we rang the buzzer and in less that 2 minutes the recepcionist was with us. And also the room was ready 3 hours before check-in! The room is not very modern but it´s spacious, confortable and with several unexpected things like a fridge or toiletries. If we return to Oxford, we will consider staying at this hotel again.

I checked in and checked out after one hour. It is a room only accommodation, no breakfast served on property. I went for dinner at nearby restaurant and when I happened to say to waitress where I was staying in got the response ‘stay safe’ so as a solo female traveller I was out of there

Really nice room! Lovely toiletries (L'Occitane) and good quality coffee, tea etc, had everything I needed, quiet, comfortable. I had an issue with the power sockets and this was resolved within 10 mins. Excellent location, I would highly recommend.

Very very basic. Very little care taken in general. Room was ok but small and stuffy. Decor run down . Corridors cramped and shabby. Desk was unmanned, had to buzz to get staff over road from their “ sister “ hotel. They seemed disinterested. Little local knowledge. Walls paper thin. When i left in the morning , I walked out into a building site - the whole section , including the front door , had been sectioned off workmen - who shouted at me for not wearing a hard-hat 😂 would have been nice to get a heads up from the hotel this was happening. You get what you pay for , and this was cheap , but I won’t be staying again. Recommend avoiding

The location is reasonably good, but the "hotel" is just a collection of small rooms. There is no lobby and the "staff" consisted of one man who was not on site. The room was hot, small, and the shower had a large amount of mold in the tile grout. We were the only ones to stay in the "hotel" and we would not stay thee again.
