It is recommended to avoid thunderbolts. It is hard to imagine how such a hotel can be rated five stars.
Public environment: The hotel is very small, there is almost no front desk, the corridor is a narrow corridor of only one meter wide, and there is no elevator.
Room: We booked an ordinary room and a suite. They are very small. The ordinary room is so small that there is no place to put the luggage.
Service: The front desk service we encountered was very poor and neglected people. We were two adults and two children. We were told that the law does not allow more than three people in a room. We were asked to leave one adult and book a room in another hotel (because the hotel was full that night), and they did not agree to my check-out, and did not give any other solutions. As a result, my husband had to go to another hotel on the first night, which was really incredible.
However, the service of the restaurant department was still good
In summary: It is not worth the price. There must be better choices in Oxford

The hotel has very convenient parking, which is the first choice for self-driving tours. There is a restaurant downstairs, which is also the check-in place. At first, I wondered if I had gone to the wrong place, but when I got to the room, I found it was a different world. The hotel is very warm, with a welcome card and free fresh milk. Every decoration in the room is full of British style, even the paintings on the wall are full of stories about Oxford, and the toiletries are also very exquisite. I love the library downstairs, which feels like a university campus. The hotel is also in a good location, very close to attractions such as the Bridge of Sighs!

It is a very historical house. There is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow. The decoration inside is small, exquisite and clean. The front desk clerk will help carry the luggage to the room and take the guests to visit and explain. The newly decorated room is very warm and comfortable. There is also a thoughtful handwritten welcome card, which makes people feel like they are always home.

The front desk collects a deposit, and the water and milk in the room are free. The front desk guy helps deliver luggage to the room. The restaurant on the first floor has a real fireplace, the fire is burning🔥, it is warm and has a full sense of scope. There is also a library on the second floor

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. Besides the obvious history/charm/traditional yet modern British style, the staff are absolutely lovely. I had one week there for school and then moved to an Airbnb when my sister arrived for the second week. The air bnb was a disaster. I called over to the Old Parsonage to see if they had any availability for the current week. They were kind, accommodating, helpful, and did all they could to get us into rooms as quickly as possible. Every staff member from the front desk to the cleaning team was just incredible. I will be back three more times this year and will not considering staying anywhere else.
Response from Property: Dear Stacey, Thank you so much for your stay and such an amazing feedback, We look forward to seeing you in future, Victoria

The BEST hotel in Oxford. I remember when it was a real parsonage and was getting run down. What a treat that these wizards transformed the property into a luxurious and comfortable hotel. I stay there every chance I get when I visit Oxford. The front desk staff, the restaurant, the bar. All perfection.
Response from Property: Dear Jnjontheroad, We are so delighted to know that you truly enjoy your time at The Old Parsonage Hotel! Thank you for your wonderful feedback, Hope to see you again, Victoria

Arriving at the entrance to the Old Parsonage Hotel on a cold January afternoon was like encountering an enchanting scene from another world. This beautiful architectural stone and slate gem of a building and its inviting front courtyard and magnificent fairy light covered tree at the entrance certainly made an impact on us after our journey from the hustle and bustle of London. The warm and charming welcome and subsequent tour of the hotel from the manager Victoria at reception confirmed our first impressions - we had made the right choice of place to stay for our three night stay in Oxford! The blend of old world charm and contemporary sophistication and comfort is a winning formula and we could not have felt more welcome and comfortable. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and exceptionally well decorated - elegant, contemporary luxury at its finest. The beds were a dream and the bathrooms superb! The library at the hotel is a must to see and spend some time in regardless of whether you are a book bof or not. It is a beautiful, calm space to retreat to and has a particularly good collection of black and white photography of what might be considered alternate views of Oxford. The restaurant at the hotel is also a very inviting and engaging space housing a great collection of original paintings that cover almost every inch of the wall space. Whilst we did not have dinner at the restaurant we did have breakfast which was delicious! Importantly the staff at the Old Parsonage are friendly and professional, always willing to help and committed to making your stay a memorable experience. Clearly management are getting things right! We will certainly be returning to the Old Parsonage on our next visit to Oxford and would highly recommend it to others visiting this wonderful town!

Last night we had a family meal for my dads birthday/retirement and it was such superb! The service was great and the food was amazing. When we asked how the roast beef was cooked (because it was perfection) the chef came to speak to us which was lovely. Honestly couldn't recommend the Old Parsonage more. Thank you for a fantastic evening!
Response from Property: Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback, We are so delighted to know that you had a lovely family celebration and enjoyed time with us! With best wishes,

Well-run operation in a nicely reworked old building. The rooms were not huge, but were quite comfortable, the library was like a secret hideaway, and the restaurant felt like a private club, so we had more spaces than our rooms in which to relax (and rest and relax we most certainly did). Location is really nice: near where Banbury Rd and Woodstock Rd come together, so one has easy access northward to/from the A40/M40, yet the heart of town is only a short walk southward. Staff: very friendly, helpful, and attentive, without being intrusive. We're headed back here the next time we visit the area ...

Class service for Harry and Sergio, Harry especially. Top bartender, good craic. Appreciated the service from them both. Good team here overall. Great for a meal or fantastic for some drinks and service. Came with some family and they catered very well for us.
Response from Property: Dear 936olliel, Thank you for your recent visit to the Old Parsonage Hotel and Parsonage Grill, and for your lovely feedback—it truly means a lot to our team! We hope to see you again soon. Warm regards,

We had a great time staying at the Old Parsonage in Oxford during a weekend away from London. It is centrally located enough to walk to nearby attractions, but just far enough off the beaten path to avoid the throngs of tourists in the city centre. They left a lovely birthday message and some special treats for us upon arrival, and the breakfast the next day was excellent in their serene and art-filled restaurant area. The only downside were the persistent bells ringing at St Giles church, which seemed to be quite interminable at times, but that is only during the day time so didn't affect our sleep. Otherwise a great hotel experience and we will definitely consider staying there again next time we're in Oxford.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the Old Parsonage and that our team helped make your birthday celebration a bit more special. It’s wonderful that you appreciated the central yet peaceful location, along with our art-filled restaurant and breakfast experience. We understand that the bells at St. Giles can be a unique part of Oxford's charm, but we’re glad to know they didn’t impact your rest. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Oxford—thank you again for choosing to stay with us! Kind regards, Matylda Jablonska Assistant Front Office Manager

Very small pokey room. Barely room for our minimal luggage. Having said that very comfortable bed and pillows. Very quiet. A lovely breakfast each morning. Staff very friendly and nice. Would have liked a non slip mat for showing. Shower over bath and bath very deep and difficult to get in and out of. No hand rails. Front staircase horrendous. Use rear ones. Close to attractions and a couple of nice little pubs.
Response from Property: Dear Ms. Victoria, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with this concise feedback regarding your recent stay with us and for your kind words about our team. We are pleased that you enjoyed the breakfast at The Old Parsonage Grill. However, we are sorry to hear that we did not meet all your expectations. We hope to have to opportunity to welcome you back on another occasion, and we will ensure you have the most wonderful stay, Kind regards, Matylda Jablonska Assistant Front Office Manager
