With a sad heart, I regret that this review is needed. We first experienced the inn during Dec. 2021 soon after it had been purchased by the Popes. We were delighted to find the inn and Oxford as a restful alternative to St. Michaels. As we, in SC, historically described Pawleys Island as "elegantly shabby" (a compliment) so too was the inn. As residents of an old house we are accustomed to and adore architectural creaks and cracks. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same about our recent stay. Although the room rates are in line with other lodging, the housekeeping was not. Unmade beds, trash not emptied, dirty glasses not removed, no replacement supplies, i.e. coffee cups for the next morning. Although, we had hoped to discuss our concerns with the proprietors before departure, they were very busy preparing and serving breakfast. Instead an extensive letter was sent as an email attachment. Sadly, after 10 days neither an acknowledgement of receipt nor a response have been provided. This is such a disappointment and unfortunate demonstration of poor customer service, that we will not be returning or recommending the inn. We were very glad to learn they had survived 2.5 years of operation and hope they will continue but it will be without us.

Tidy, quaint historic inn. As with many old inns, there is narrow staircase and no elevator, and a limited number of electrical outlets for charging devices. Our second floor room ("Choptank") was perfectly-sized, with comfortable bed, large dresser and two chairs. Bathroom tiny but functional; DO read the instructions on how to turn on the shower! Innkeeper was on point, and terrific. Included breakfast was fresh, and right-sized. Only area of concern: there is no closet. There is a narrow hat rack; putting our hangers with formal clothes on it then blocked access to the bathroom. On that rainy weekend, we ended up with wet coats hanging over the backs of the chairs, or in the shower. A wall-mounted rack of hooks should be able to fit on the wall behind the entry door, and would have been welcome. Parking is in a crushed-stone public lot across the side street. Street noise could be heard during the day, but after sundown was entirely quiet.

The room was very comfortable. The area is quiet and peaceful. Most everything to see in town is within walking distance. We ate at the tavern attached to the B&B. Food was great for dinner and at breakfast. Will definitely stop here again when our travels take us this way.

This is a really charming Inn, in a lovely town. The owners/hosts were friendly and helpful, and served delicious breakfasts. The dinner we had at Pope's tavern was fantastic. Recommended for a weekend getaway!

Just stayed at the Oxford Inn and had an amazing experience. The owners Scott and Jeanne were fantastic. Scott even went way beyond for us and gave a short private tour of Oxford in his car. I am having knee surgery soon and didn’t want me to walk that far! The Inn is convenient and charming. Relaxed environment to just get away. Thank you for making our experience so great! We will see you soon!

Recently returned from a lovely overnight trip to Oxford. The Innkeeper at the Oxford Inn was so lovely and made sure we had everything we needed, including a reservation at the Inn's restaurant. The room was charming - it is a historic old home . While it was crazy hot outside - too hot- that particular night to sit on the porch, it would have otherwise been so lovely. Cozy restaurant and bar downstairs as well. Everything in charming Oxford is walking distance to the hotel - restaurants, ice cream, the water - and there is a tennis court across the street. I can't wait to go back.

Beautiful historic Inn with a variety of rooms. Sit down style breakfast served to inn guests. Chefs choice on the weekends. Also attached is a beautiful Italian restaurant with Sauces and pasta made from scratch. Go Tuesday and try Pope's Pizza you won't regret it. Located right as you come into Oxford across from the water and tennis/pickleball court.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Oxford Inn. Upon arrival, I was immediately humbled by the owner’s Scott and Jeanne’s sweet attitude of service. It was as if they were old friends welcoming us to their “home”. Both the Inn and Pope’s Tavern- the restaurant attached to the Inn are a cozy getaway. Dining in the Tavern was like being on an episode of Cheer’s- an atmosphere where folks were so relaxed and simply enjoying each other’s company. The Italian food, made in house, was wonderful. I was not sure what to expect when I made the reservation; now, I can say that it blew any expectations I had out of the water. They have something very special here; I guarantee you will not be disappointed should you give this place a try!

Oxford Maryland is a quaint town, perfect for a restful and relaxing weekend. My husband and I traveled to the area and stayed at The Oxford Inn. The establishment was well kept and the owners were more than welcoming! They offered insights to the town and different attractions to check out, they offered great company and conversation, and they offered exceptional hospitality and yummy eats! Would definitely recommend! If you’re in Oxford, be sure to stop in and see Scott and Jeanne, book a room, and enjoy a delicious meal and spirit at the attached Pope‘s Tavern.
