The sea view room is amazing, the public areas are very beautiful, the food is also good, it is a place where you can eat a full meal, the coffee is not so good, free parking, overall very satisfied

We booked for dinner a couple of hours before arriving and yet they couldn’t find the booking. Luckily, and disturbingly for them, the restaurant was very quiet. The lighting was very bright, spoiling the atmosphere, albeit the decor was fairly opulent apart from the oddly modern choice of replacement table tops. We ordered a bottle of wine and were surprised to have our bottle just left, without an offer to open and pour, not what we would expect in this level of establishment. The food, however, was very good albeit the gap between starter and main was far too short. The only exception was the Eton mess dessert which didn’t contain the advertised strawberries and virtually no meringue but this was refunded. The prices are reasonable but we were left unsure what this restaurant is trying to be, possibly the result of being a chain and losing its way?

We visited here for the Sunday Carvery. The hotel itself is beautifully situated with a lovely patio area overlooking the sea. We have dined here several times before and you never know what to expect. This time the carvery was excellent, I had the roast beef with fluffy roasts and perfectly cooked vegetables. We should have stopped there as we had eaten quite a lot! However, we were tempted by the dessert menu and I chose an Eton mess. This arrived with lots of runny mixed fruit covering it when it should have been strawberries. They happily changed it and returned it with just strawberries. However, at £8 I would expect my dessert to come with fresh strawberries rather than something out of a tin. I will probably return for the carvery, but desserts are overpriced and not nearly as nice as described.

We visited for food and the music event on Sunday afternoon, service and food were outstanding, the atmosphere was superb, staff are really friendly, they couldn’t do enough for us, we really couldn’t fault anything.

The Sea Marge hotel has a lovely garden with sea views. We visited one day for drinks following a walk from Cromer to Overstrand on the beach which was lovely. we looked at the menu and decided to go back the following day for lunch. We were kindly informed that on a Tuesday the smaller plates were 3 for the price of 2. We ordered 3 plates the food was average the chicken was missing from the tortilla dish which was so smothered with a bland green sauce we didn't realise until we were half way through. The service over all for such a nice hotel was disappointing. Would return again for drinks only.

Lovely location, the building is tired and looking like it could do with some TLC. Admittedly it was a very hot weekend but the windows in our ‘sea view’ room wouldn’t open so it was stifling. The decor is dated but OK. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment, small portions but OK. We we charged a service charge when ordering at the bar, the selection there not great either. A nice location, friendly staff but overall not as good as I was expecting.

We have been numerous times before , always felt a little overpriced , but usually a nice bedroom and bathroom . Well the shower this time , before its been large and walk in, was the smallest I've come across. I'm not big but it was a joke.Not luxury at all. The staff seem to have no clue or training whatsoever. Evening meal was ok,but menu never changes from one year to the next, and as for the bread rolls , they are a disgrace to offer anyone. Now for the breakfast, it has changed at this luxury hotel. No tea or coffee brought to your table like before, get it yourself and they must be the cheapest awful tea bags they could find aswell as the so called orange juice. No tea cups just mugs like a transport cafe. I did asked the young lad for a tea cup , which he brought with his hand clasped around the top and no saucer. So to summarise , they are cutting corners . Cheap essential food items , untrained and uninterested staff. Can only be the owners. Good luck if not by next year ; very soon this hotel will be up for sale.
