Fantastic We had an amazing anniversary stay at this beautiful, charming hotel. We were greeted by welcoming, friendly staff upon arrival, and check in was quick and easy. Our room was immaculate and impressively decorated. The bed was very comfortable, but the stand out feature was the tin bath - a real showstopper. I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic night away.

I have been to this restaurant maybe six times in the last 10 to 12 weeks. A fabulous Sunday lunch and normally fabulous service. Last Sunday unfortunately was one of the worst levels of service I’ve ever experienced in perhaps 10 years. The main lowlights being 20 minutes before they brought our drinks, which we got up to finally get at the bar. Nobody caring about the tables. A large post-wedding table next to us clearly upset with standards. No check to ask if we needed more drinks, and despite promises, no bill at the end. In the end we got up and had to wait at the bar to pay. Even when told the service was poor, they couldn’t give a stuff. Staff just chatting at the bar rather than bothering to actually do their job. This totally down to the manager and he wasn’t managing at all. Very sad considering there were about 4 tables in the restaurant. Clearly there are too many customers about these days and they don’t need to bother. The date of the visit was 26/01. I’ll leave a 5 star review for the other times as well, but on the basis we drive an hour each way to eat here, I don’t think we’ll bother again, or continue to recommend.

We loved our stay, the room was lovely and there was nice touches such as the chocolate and nice coffee. We enjoyed our breakfast in the morning. The only down side is the evening meal and drinks are on the pricey side, £13 for a double gin and lemonade (I am aware there is not much competition in otterburn). The meal was nice though and the staff were so lovely and accomodating :).
