The hotel just underwent a renovation, and the rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and furnishings. Our king room had a large sofa as well as a fridge and microwave. The staff is very pleasant and really seem to want you to have a great stay. The bathroom is modern with a large vanity and a nightlight. The towels and bedding are not luxurious but better than most hotels in this range. The breakfast buffet included scrambled eggs, chicken sausage and several kinds of bread and sweets. There was also oatmeal and cereal. The person who checked us in told me she has worked there 12 years and asked us to please call her with any needs. Kim, the manager, checked us out and really listened to ideas we had to improve the sound issues we had being next to the exit door. I have stayed in numerous hotels in the area since I am a frequent visitor to the nearby Starved Rock park area, and I find this is by far the best hotel to stay in when in the area. I will definitely come back even more now that the hotel is modern and renovated.
