Super 8 by Wyndham Ottawa Starved Rock

This Super 8 is Great.

An older hotel property with older carpets in hallways but staff were helpful, room was clean, bed was comfortable.

Don’t stay here if you want to be able to smell. Absolutely covered in mold not to mention someone else’s hair in the bathroom,unfilled paper rolls, and visible mold in walls and air unit.

We are traveling home across country and needed a place to lay our heads for the night and a decent breakfast in the morning. We were not disappointed. The room was clean and decent. Beds comfortable. There was a bit of a funky smell upon entering the room but was not horrible. The continental breakfast was good. Waffles, multi grain bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal and such. Staff were nice and it was quiet.

Fantastic at all levels! Above and beyond welcoming and all its accommodations! Cleanliness was not only the property but our room too, safe area, had no accommodation and we were in a room in minutes, checkout was at 11am right after plenty of breakfast choices. WI-FI, cable TV worked perfectly too!

This hotel was very nice neat clean great staff very friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to our friends and family I particularly want to point out that when we checked in around 6 PM a wonderful person greeted us at the front desk with a smile, and a plethora of knowledge about anything you needed to know in regards to your stay, and she genuinely cared about making it a good one

we left after being shown three rooms that were unacceptable. The first room smelled bad, and had a dirty, bedspread and very wrinkled sheets. The second room was very smoky with cigarettes in the hallway outside of it. The third room had a scratched up toilet seat a toilet that did not run properly a broken, blind, a broken refrigerator And smoke detector. I have stayed there in the past, and it was outdated but clean. This is unacceptable and I will never return.

The entire motel was shabby and now well-kept. Carpets were filthy, breakfast room wasn't cleaned up. Room smelled of mold and had filthy chairs. Breakfast was one of the worse I've seen (and I've seen many). Milk was sitting on the counter without any refrigeration or cooling at all. Waffle batter was curdled and had separated, juice machine was out of order and coffee was weak and tasteless. Check in was fine. Bed was comfortable.

everything is getting tired from the carpet to room furnishings (bed springs poking my back made it nearly impossible to sleep), plus the cleanliness has deteriorated over recent years, perhaps new ownership or management (?), killed 2 spiders in the bathroom (3rd floor), breakfast used to be good with eggs and either sausage or bacon, but that's long gone and now it's a joke and shouldn't even be called 'breakfast', definitely not recommended unless you have a strong stomach. The coffee is not drinkable IMO. The orange juice was the only item I found acceptable and I've never been a picky eater! If for just one night, it's OK, but anything longer and especially if traveling with my wife, I would definitely spend a little extra and book a room at one of the nearby hotels.
