We stayed for two nights before going to Geilo. Overall it was a nice boutique hotel with an original vibe and the rooms were very clean and well presented. The boys loved the flip flops and toothbrushes in the brown paper bags. Reception were also very helpful. Breakfast was nicely presented and very tasty. Would definitely stay here again.

What a lovely place to stay. The attention to detail is wonderful. The room was beautiful. Had a great sleep. Love their sustainability approach. Staff was very caring and attentive. We even got a room upgrade. 🤗 I do recommend the breakfast.

Hotel is located in a quiet area close to Oslo city centre. The hotel itself is quite cozy and has a calming athmosphere. We got a free upgrade when we checked in, which was a very wonderful surprise. We were really grateful for that :) We didn't get breakfast or use the spa during our stay, which I regret a little after leaving, but then we'll just have to come back soon for that :) We enjoyed our short stay very much :)

Nice hotel, a warm welcome, small lift an very small room en-suite No where really to put to large suitcases in room Order the spa in the morning overslept and was still charged for it sad face Breakfast was very refreshing fresh bread etc Checking out running 5 minutes late knock on the door ? Felt being chased out the door Would I go back No Very nice to of experienced it If you look at my photos you see the size of the rooms

Reception staff friendly and professional. Location is great, close to the water, Nationalteater station and the city. The rooms are very small but cosy. Unfortunately you can hear everything from the rooms above and next door. It was very disturbing. Beds - very hard. I can usually sleep on anything but this was a challenge. They were bad. Breakfast - good coffee and hummus but otherwise very simple. There was also a lack of information, with check in there was a code to scan for information but it didn't work - so I missed information and they missed selling me stuff from their bar.

This place has changed management sadly! I was overcharged by $140 the day before i checked in. ~ i paid for a supposed double room and was given the tiniest single room. The bed was hard as a rock. And a very small twin that was horrible to sleep on. The street noise and screaming from children hard to relax to the excessive noises coming from cars and trucks as well! The toilet in bathroom is half under sink and i am not a big person but if you were you could not fit. Most uncomfortable bathroom shower with minimal shower curtain put water everywhere (soaking wet toilet paper) not a joke!!! Shower dirty as well. Being overcharged for a room that i did not get because the militant receptionist she said “ sorry” thats the only room, (fully booked) (my reservation was made months before arrival) offered me no money back. Tried to charge me for a late check out after 2 miserable nights in this tiny noisy box room. Breakfast has changed not Babbo any longer, now its gross, and they charge extra on top of room for garbage looking food. Horrible stay. After probably at least 8 times staying at Guldsmelden since Jan 2019. This was the worst! Obviously management changed and rude reception was sadly unexpected and she gave me a horrible room. Overcharged for what a horrible room i was given $309 For 2 nights¿ food was despicable and trying to charge for garbage food that i saw on display. Apparently Babbo was smart to leave! Their food was what made Guldsmeden. Now it’s embarrassing. Lobby not as comfortable. Cool vibe is GONE & people working there are rude and militant! Street room i was given was excessively noisy. Sadly i will not come back. As Guldsmelden has completely LOST its charm and employees and Vibe that once made it a cool place to stay

This hotel is a proof that you don’t need to be a hippie to be eco-friendly. It’s a very cozy hotel with a great location. Positive: - Bed: I cannot describe how comfortable the bed and the covers were! I had amazing sleep - Location: only 3 min away by foot from National Theatre station which is directly connected to the Airport. Also at a walking distance to the royal palace and to the city center where you have all the Christmas markets and shops. The opera is only about 20 min walking. Finally the neighborhood itself is very beautiful and has many nice restaurants, parks and convenience stores. Really liked this part of Oslo. - Breakfast: organic breakfast with very good quality, really liked all the food there - Sustainability: my understanding is all the laundry and cleaning is done with eco-friendly procedures. Negative: - Elevator: it was broken and they told me it would not be repaired until January/February 2023! They gave me a room in the 6th floor and I was carrying a 26kg piece of luggage. I’m young and going upstairs with the luggage was not a problem for me but this won’t be suitable for elders or people with reduced mobility. Ask about the elevator before booking a room here ! - Room promised: days before arriving I asked for a room with a decent table since I had to work for 2 days from my laptop. They confirmed they would give me an appropriate room. However when I got to my room on the 6th floor (without elevator) I found myself with a table 20 cm wide and with no space for me to sit (the rooms are tiny). I felt like they were laughing at me - Sauna: I have never ever stayed in a hotel with a sauna where they charge guests to use it ! Well, this hotel does and it is not cheap. This was really disappointing Overall my stay was really good here, however I cannot give 5* to this hotel given the 3 negative things I mentioned.

We had a really lovely stay at the Oslo Guldsmeden. The hotel is situated in a quite area just a few minutes walk from the station and Aker Brygge We booked directly with the hotel and selected a double double room which can be two doubles next to each other or opposite. I had emailed ahead and asked for interconnecting rooms and was delighted to find the hotel had accommodated our request. We were greeted warmly on arrival. Our room was not yet made up as we arrived a little early but we were told we were welcome to use the lounge area and help ourselves to the free coffee. This was very welcome after our early morning flight. Our room was lovely, with those special Scandanavian hygge touches that instantly make you feel at home. It was great to see that sustainability was important to the hotel. We were given one towel each (any more and you can become quite complacent about the planet and use them all) and there were lots of lovely eco-friendly toiletries and little extras. I loved them so much that I'm going to buy some now I'm back in the UK. We all slept very well in the beds and the room was always at the perfect temperature. There are heaters in the room that you can control if you feel a little chilly, however. Some previous reviews have mentioned the showers can be problematic. No problems here! You just need to make sure the shower curtain is closed and that you don't throw your arms around like an octopus while you shower. Do that and the water will stay where it's supposed to be. :) The sauna in the hotel is well worth a trip too. You will have the entire spa to yourself - we used the spa bath, the steam room, and the sauna. After a long day of sightseeing, it was heavenly to have an hour to ourselves to relax and then finish the whole experience with some of the gorgeous orange body oil that is supplied. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but it did look amazing with lots of organic produce on offer. All in all, the hotel was an amazing addition to our carefully planned trip and we would definitely come back when we are next in Oslo.
