Oshima Hot Spa Hotel

東海汽船でホテル付チケットを申し込み、このホテルに一泊しました。三原山の登山口の近くで、登山にはすごく便利でした。市街からは離れていて近隣に飲食店はありませんでした。部屋は十分な広さで問題なし。三原山が正面に見える大浴場は宿泊者は朝5:00から利用できました。

I used this hotel for a day trip after trekking Mt. Mihara. There is a fork in the road to the hot spring hotel on the way around the crater of Mt. Mihara, so I came to this hotel after climbing from the summit and going around the crater. The bath fee was 800 yen, and a set of towels and bath towels was available for 300 yen. The hot spring is on the first basement floor, and there are lockers for valuables in the changing room, so you can use it with peace of mind. The baths are simple, with one indoor bath and one open-air bath, and I thoroughly enjoyed the open-air bath, which is the highlight. The water temperature was just right, not too hot and not too lukewarm. Because of that temperature, I was able to take my time to soak and heal my tired body. It was very pleasant to take a bath while looking at Mt. Mihara, which I had just conquered, and I enjoyed the luxurious view. The hotel itself gave an impression of being old, but the open-air hot spring was very good and I would highly recommend it. After bathing, I bought some souvenirs at the shop and went home.

Good points: View from the open-air bath. Shuttle bus to the port (not surprising, since there are no local buses on weekdays!). Bad points: Wi-Fi - useless in the room. Room - renovated bed room, but no good in many ways. Room is spacious, but too much wasted space. Bed... electric bed. It's probably expensive, but pointless. Nice washroom... but like the washroom in a service area, when you put your hand over it, water trickles... you can't adjust it, you can only fill the pot in the room in the bathroom, and the structure means you can't fill the aquarium with water. Food - sashimi... we ordered separately, but it was awful. I've never had such bad sashimi before, it was full of strings and couldn't be chewed, and it had no freshness at all, so we skewered it and fried it. Rice - bad. Staff response - I know they're trying their best, but they're not used to it, they don't know what to do. Is the food here catered? Are there no cooks in the kitchen? Large public bath: Old and not well maintained. Only the view from the open-air bath is good. Smoking area: Only outside the building. Isn't that a problem in terms of crime prevention?

It is in a great location with a view of Mt. Mihara. It is undeniably old, but this is the only hotel in this location. The hot springs were wonderful, and the camellia oil fondue for dinner was delicious. Apparently, this hotel was spared from damage during previous eruptions, even though it was close by.
