Great hotel

Imposing outside and could be inside with imaginative redecorating. At the moment nearly everyw6 is cream . My bedroom.had all cream walls, only the bathroom had some respite. The food menu appears to be the same each day, so fine if you are staying overnight but not for longer. The food was quite good and the breakfast was enjoyable. It is really set up for events such as weddings and conferences as well as being a well used Spa. A good hotel which could be improved with an interior designer.

Booked over the phone with an extremely helpful member of staff. Very impressed with the grounds and surroundings on arrival. Check in was swift and hassle free. Room was nice, but basic (although didnt need much for one night). Robes, slippers and spa towels all in the room for us, quick change and then down to the spa. Used the pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi which were all lovely. Had a mud chamber booked for that afternoon which was new to us, but we thoroughly enjoyed the realxing and private experience. Some more time spent in the spa before heading up to get ready for our meal in the Huntly restaurant. Both of our meals and desserts were fantastic and the staff in the restaurant were all great and very helpful (sourced us an ice bucket to take upstairs too). Great night's sleep in the very comfortable bed. Breakfast on Sunday morning was fantastic, everything you could want at a hotel breakfast. Sausages deserve a special mention as they were really good. We then headed back to the spa for our treatments included in the spa break package. I had called the spa beforehand to book the mud chamber as well as upgrading our treatments to 1 hour each (staff were very helpful and accommodating on the phone). My wife had a 30 minute hot stone massage followed by a 30 minute facial which she enjoyed both treatments. I opted for a 60 minute full body massage with Grace which was extremely relaxing. Check out was easy and we headed home. This hotel was beautiful, relaxing and just what we needed for an overnight spa break. I would, and already have, recommended this hotel to friends and family. Thank you for having us, and I am sure we will be returning again in the future. (P.S - huge husband points for me from the wife as this was booked as a suprise break for her. She was very impressed!).
