Villa crespi is absolutely beautiful! And the staff are wonderful. And the location is a nice walk to town. However I have no idea how they received a gold key last year! The rooms were so hot I could not sleep (march) and I asked them to turn off the heat! But that did not work. I also asked them not to continue spraying perfume all over my room because I was allergic… however housekeeping continued to do so until I locked them out. In addition the mattress was limp and old- very uncomfortable. The shower is vintage and needs to be upgraded- nice to loook at but impossible to shower in if you stand over 5’2”!

Mi permetto di esprimere un pensiero del tutto personale, evidentemente, sulla struttura della star Antonino Canavacciulo. Il concetto è stancante. In cucina, l’esasperazione del lusso può sfiorare il ridicolo. Per i vari menu: una lunga serie di piatti, accompagnati da una pletora di informazioni di cui ci si scorda dopo pochi secondi e dal significato tutto da verificare. Ogni piatto, un boccone e alcuni minuti di attesa e introduzione. Del tutto assente la soddisfazione di infilare due forchettate di seguito. Un’esperienza faticosa, che assume significato nella misura in cui viene espressa sui social e raccontata agli amici. “Ci sono stato”: in buona sostanza sembra essere questo il senso dell’operazione. Anche la parte alberghiera è lungi dal proporre un rapporto qualità-prezzo convincente. Un prodotto dell’era social e dei cuochi star. La qualità nel piatto, il piacere dell’incontro, della scoperta e della condivisione sono altra cosa. Come di fronte a certe espressioni artistiche, a volte si finge di apprezzare; non sia mai che si pensi non si sia capito.
