We only needed one night somewhere near Jose’s crocodile tour (we really wanted to see dinosaurs and it was awesome!) and decided to stay here. It’s down about 1.5 mile dirt road; we had a rental car. It is definitely on the older side, but it was such a fun place. The staff are kind and helpful. If you haven’t backpacked before this will give you a tiny taste of it, except that it has very clean rooms, air conditioning, and tv. The attached bathroom is actually outside which is so fun. We saw loads of monkeys up close and scarlet macaws and parrots here—right before sunset for the monkeys, morning for the birds. We did try the pizza and although spendy, it was seriously delicious. Had a red wine and I love when it’s chilled. 2 adults with 1 teen and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Totally recommend.

I like this place better than I thought I would. Food was decent and its a nice layout. Love the restaurant/ pool area, can relax and watch all the birds/butterflies. Excellent staff- very helpful and accommodating. Booked a tour with a local guide that they have on site and saw a ton of different birds I had not seen elsewhere, including owls. Only a few mins from the crocodile bridge and Carara NP, both worth a visit. Only about 15 mins from a few good restaurants and beaches. Felt a bit off the beaten path but highly enjoyable.

La ubicación queda en un lugar hermoso para ver las lapas, y todas las hermosas aves que tenemos en Costa Rica, la habitación son bellas, el baño espacioso y me encantó, el ambiente es increíble y lo mas importante que tienen abierto hasta tarde, la atención 10/10.

Cerro Lodge es un lugar tranquilo, ideal para quienes buscan desconectarse y disfrutar de la naturaleza. Las habitaciones son limpias y cómodas, con un diseño sencillo pero funcional. El personal es muy amable y servicial, lo que hace que la estadía sea agradable desde el primer momento. Horario de apertura, el restaurante no siempre respeta la hora de apertura anunciada (mediodía), lo que puede ser frustrante para los huéspedes que llegan con hambre. El menú es muy limitado, las opciones de platillos son muy pocas, y aunque la calidad es aceptable, la falta de variedad decepciona. Los precios son elevados considerando la poca variedad, los costos de los platos y bebidas no se justifican del todo. Su entorno y la experiencia general de este lodge rodeado de naturaleza, lo que lo hace perfecto para relajarse y observar aves o disfrutar del paisaje. La paz que se respira es uno de sus mayores atractivos.

Es gab Unstimmigkeiten zu den in Anspruch genommenen Leistungen. Wir wurden mit Gewalt an der Weiterfahrt gehindert. Unsere Kreditkarte wurde uns entrissen und nicht mehr zurückgegeben. This is a SCAM Hotel! Die Zimmer sind voller Ameisen und Mücken. Die Ameisen laufen auch auf den Betten herum und krabbeln einem nachts durch das Gesicht. Das Management ist völlig inkompetent und hat schließlich probiert die Polizei zu rufen, um uns unter Druck zu setzen.

We didn't stay in the hotel but visited the restaurant and all had Pizza. And what shall I say: it's by far the best Pizza we had in Costa Rica, be it the 'signature Pizzas', be it the normal ones. The price level is ok, considering the remote location

What a beautiful place! The staff were great, the room was clean and comfortable, and the restaurant was super. Great place to enjoy nature and relax.
