We were in Chico for my son's graduation a couple weeks ago. At the last minute, the hotel I had booked 2 months before, notified us they wouldn't be open yet and I had to scramble to find 3 rooms for one night. Due to graduation, there was not much available. I was hesitant to book here, but figured we were just sleeping for one night and it would be fine. It was surprisingly much better than fine. Unbelievable quiet considering it backs up to the freeway. Never heard any noise. Rooms were very tidy and included nice pillows, a mini-fridge, microwave and small table and two chairs. They serve fresh coffee in the lobby and had fresh fruit available plus packaged breakfast rolls. The owner or manager was out sweeping the walkways in the morning. The area around the Inn felt very clean and safe. There is a small but attractive pool as well.

Another stay at Orland Just a couple days, and have stayed here many times, before. As usual, check in was friendly and accomodating. Room was clean and neat though the sitting chair was stained and pretty uncomfortable. Hurt to sit in it for too long using a computer, for example. The lampshade was in poor condition, cracked and peeling inside but the light level was adequate. TV was okay. Internet access was fine. They need to replace the bath mat and towels, daily, however. Perhaps this was a simple oversight. Ice machine worked fine. The hotel was pretty quiet even though immediately off of the freeway. Morning food provided was pretty limited, fruit or CostCo plastic wrapped danish and coffee/tea. For my purposes, adequate.

OK for a 1 night stay Front staff were great. Motel is just old. Carpets can use a good cleaning, walls are thin, and corners in the rooms need a good cleaning. Beds are not that comfortable for our tastes. A/C is loud. Most of these things are just because of the age of the motel. Pool area was clean and fun for the teenage boys to play in. There are a few stores right in the same parking lot to pick up any items you may need. Motel is right off the freeway so very convenient. Motel was full with firefighters, that were away 90% of the time we were there. No smoke from the fire, as it was blowing north of our location. I would stay here again if the need arose.
